This is what happens when you make peace with your enemies and leave them to

their own devices. When Israel pulled out of Lebanon in 2000, Hezbollah were

already an efficient guerilla force. Since then, they've had 6 years to undergo

training and obtain advanced armaments, intelligence and communications capabilities

they didn't have before. They have dug bunkers and planted mines close to the

Israeli border, and now Israel's 2,000 or so soldiers are fighting 6,000 Elite

Hezbollah fighters and 15,000 trained fighters who can ride out the air attacks

and artillery fire in the bunkers which are apparently deep enough to withstand

even the bunker-buster bombs (which Israel has recently bought from America and

which are en route to Israel via the UK as we speak.)

WoM suggested that Israel had planned the invasion long before the soldiers were

kidnapped. Of course they had. For 6 years, Israel stood by and watched Hezbollah

grow in numbers, strength and arsenal. It would have been foolish not to create a

contingency plan to deal with the growing threat, and I'm sure Israel prepared for it.

But so did Hezbollah - they have been preparing for this battle ever since Israel's

withdrawal from south Lebanon.

The moral of the story? Never let up on your enemies, keep the pressure on and

keep those bombs coming.

I agree never let up on your enemy. Isreal has been planning this since they got there ARses booted out in 2000. the fact of the matter is that they are still holding hostages and still holding land which does not belong to them (Shabaa Farms). When you refuse to leave my home, I can kick you out any way necessary. Isreal never stood by. No at that time they where also murdering the Palesitnion people. when your goverment cannot protect you, you rise up and defend your self and the weak.

I have absolutely no problem with someone expressing himself or herself. I am as far removed from being a bush lover as it is possible to be... I loathe the entire family... I think the war in Iraq is sick... I also believe that Israel has become that which does to others what was done to them... but I also believe that Israel would have been annihilated way back when it was created had it not been aggressive. I believe that there should be a 2 state solution to the Palestine issue and that the Israelis were wrong in building settlements after signing a peace deal with the Palestinians.

But I have never heard WOM actually say a single word that could be construed as even liking America. Her posts are filled with hate. They are relentlessly rabble-rousing and hate filled. I stand by what I said earlier.

On Wednesday, July 12, a Hezbollah unit attacked two armored Jeeps of the Israeli army, patrolling along Israel's border with Lebanon. Three Israeli soldiers were killed in the attack and two were taken hostage.

The Israeli government, however, did not give a single moment for diplomacy...

Wonder why Israel didn't react diplomatically to Hezbollah's apparently "diplomatic" efforts. Oh wait, in terms of Hezbollah diplomacy, it actually did. Diplomacy is quite obviously not a language Hezbollah speaks.
