Hello everyone,

I just got a letter for submitting dated evidence of meeting in person within the two years.

I have already send this information with I-129 F package - airline tickets, boarding passes, photos.

What I should do?

Should I call USCIS?

Should I hire an attorney?

Thanks!

Hmm. When we sent ours in we sent airline tix for both of us, photos, receipts of places we'd been together, receipt for the engagement ring, etc... When you send stuff in be sure to highlight the date and the place the receipt was for. Do you have hotel receipts? Good luck!

Adding to their question, can I just send copies of the boarding pass and copies of tickets, receipts, etc? Or do I need to send the original copies of each of these???

What you should do is send dated evidence that you met your fiancee in person within two years BEFORE filing the petition as required in order to qualify for the petition. Suggested and proven good examples are..

1. Copies of passport stamps

2. Copies of boarding passes

3. photos

4. Copies Receipts for hotels, restraunts, etc.

You already sent it? Send it again. I am sure you made a copy of everything for your files and still have the originals. Be sure to send it before the date requested...YES, things get lost and separated sometimes.

You do not need to call anyone. Do not hire an attorney unless that attorney has the proof you met with your fiancee within two years before filing the petition.

Adding to their question, can I just send copies of the boarding pass and copies of tickets, receipts, etc? Or do I need to send the original copies of each of these???

Photocopies. NEVER send originals

Sounds like they lost it. Or, less likely, that the stuff you sent may not have had a date on it (not a year anyway)? As was said, I would just send everything again, possibly with a bullet point timeline of your relationship so it is clear when and how many times you have met in person.

I do not have stamps in my passport when arriving in Europe, because I am a European citizen, too. But I sent them a copies of the stamps when I arrived back in USA, boarding passes, tickets and dated photos.

What did you send ? Did you send copies of your stamps in your passport ?

Also something I used was bank statements showing ATM withdrawals in my fiance's country, bus tickets that had both of our names on it, hotel receipts with both of our names on it, etc.

I highlighted and/or put post it notes on every piece of evidence I turned in to tell them what I was trying to show with that piece of evidence, regardless of how obvious it may have seemed to me. I would resend what you already sent with clarification of what you were trying to show, plus any other evidence you can think of!

That's what I did too. Also, any emails, phone records, or letters through the postal system help show proof of relationship. I made copies of four phone bills highlighting the international text messaging between me and my fiance, printed out four emails between the two of us, and made a copy of an envelope that had a card that my parents sent to me while visiting my fiance during Christmas. I highlighted all the dates of these and put sticky notes on them explaining how they showed proof of relationship.

So, D&S. To the point, do you have actual primary evidence of meeting in person. All the relationship evidence in the world won't satisfy that requirement. The issue of evidence of meeting is entirely separate from the issue of evidence of a bona fide ongoing relationship.

What primary evidence of meeting did you find to send in your response?

Stated above:

I do not have stamps in my passport when arriving in Europe, because I am a European citizen, too. But I sent them a copies of the stamps when I arrived back in USA, boarding passes, tickets and dated photos.

Were these within the 2 years prior to you filing your I-129F?

You MUST be a US citizen to petition a K-1. If you are a dual citizen then attach copies of boarding passes and recipts from your trip
