Good Day everyone!!!!!!!

My fiance and myself are going through a little dilemma which put big question marks on our face's. We originally filled our K1 visa in June 2009 we went through the long waiting period and Noa & Noa 2 approvals. My fiance lives in Japan and she recently went to her interview on December 14 2009 at the US Japanese embassy. Unfortunately we didn't get the approval right away because there was some information on my side which they needed which I kindly faxed over to them in which they received. This was about 2 weeks ago my fiance and myself have just been anxiously waiting, now a few days ago she received a call from the embassy stating that they received everything which look good and she could expect an approval once everything is processed so we are thinking ....Excellent. Today she received the Package with the K-1 Visa Approval she got her passport back with the approval and the date we have to get married by and myself listed as the petitioner and they sent all of our many pics back. There were two other documents included one was a brown envelope stating not to open which I'm guessing is for the consulate once she comes to JFK (New York Airport) to present to them. The second letter was a denial letter stating that the process was denied giving all these reasons then stating it couldn't be appealed and we would have to start all over but the letter didn't include our names or anything it was kind of general. Now on one hand we have the approval as promised but on the other we have a denial letter which is really bizarre. We are not sure whether to celebrate or take it from the top again. I was told by some of my biz. partners to just have her come to the U.S, Visa was approved and that most likely it was a error on the embassy side but I don't want to take it lightly, any suggestions would help us make a better decision on what we should do next? ................................(Thank you in advance)

Soo...is there a visa in her passport? Seems like you say there is. Call the embassy maybe? Don't mess with the U.S. government by just having her come over, sort it out first.

Слава Україні!

Is the visa inside the passport?

YMMV

We got the approval stamp on her passport and it listed me as the petitioner on the passport and it gave us an expiration date we have to get married by. It was to my knowledge that the document they want you to NOT open contains the actual visa

The actual visa is a sticker they paste in her passport that has her photo, name, etc and validity date, along with your name. You can see a sample in the gallery. It clearly says VISA UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The brown envelope has her file and medical info.

I would suggest that she contact the embassy and clear it up. I doubt you were denied, but if you were, it will become a problem when she gets to the US.

Hard to miss the visa in the passport... As for the denial letter - I'd contact the Consulate/Embassy for clarification.

Yes visa is in her passport. Thats why we don't understand.

With that special Do Not Open envelope, I am quite certain she got the visa. The letter does seem like a mistake. Run baby run!

Sounds like you are approved and they slipped an extra piece of paper in by accident.. all you need to do is call DoS and ask the status of the case...

duplicate threads merged and duplicate post removed. There is no need to start more than one thread on the same topic.
