Affadavit of Support

Hey, I was wondering if the affadavit of support has to be from someone living in the same state. For example, I am moving to Puerto Rico, my fiance lives there, but the person on the Affadavit of Support lives in New York. Is that fine? Or does it have to be someone who lives where they live? Out of curiosity, if your fiance already lives in PR then why would you be doing a K-1 visa? Unless of course you are the alien.

It depends on the consulate. Some countries can be strict, as their directive is to ensure that you will be financially supported, and that's open to some significant interpretation between countries.

I am the alien fiance, I live in Canada and my fiance lives in Puerto Rico.

i had the same concern. my co-sponsor does not reside in the same state as i. my fiance will be going to the US embassy in manila, philippines. will it be ok that my co-sponsor will be from guam and florida?
