Praise Jesus!! We were approved this morning in Rio. We are so happy and thrilled. The interview was painless and very fast as my wife was the first one in line. :D

I want to give an infinite thank you to everyone that contributes to VisaJourney. Your posts and articles helped us through the entire process and made it so simple. Again, thank you all for making this site priceless.

If anyone has questions, please ask. I will help if I can.

08/2006 met in GA, U.S.

05/2007 Antje had to go back to Germany

10/2009 got engaged in TN

12/31/2009 got married

1/7/2010 I-130 sent

1/9/2010 I-130 delivered

1/13/2010 check cashed

1/15/2010 NOA 1

3/18/2010 NOA 2

5 months from I-130 acceptance to interview approval. My wife was at the consulate for less than 1 hour. The interview itself was about 5 minutes.

I-130 NOA1 - 05th Nov, 2009
I-130 NOA2 - 10th February, 2010 Yay!!!!
"Your I-130 was approved in 97 days from your NOA1 date."

NVC Journey:
02-16-2010: NVC Case # Assigned
03-31-2010: Case Complete!!
04-12-2010: Interview date assigned by NVC.
05-11-2010: Medical appointment in Rio

05-13-2010: Interview in Rio - APPROVED!!!

06-02-2010: POE in Washington DC - Finally home!

July 30, 2010 - Received the Green Card after receiving 4 welcome letters! USCIS see ya later!

2 YEARS LATER......

03-02-2012: Elegible to lift conditions
06-02-2012: Temporary GC expires

12-20-2012: Permanent GC received

6 MONTHS LATER......

06/03/2013: n400 Filled

10/22/2013: Citizenship test and oath ceremony

2009-10-30: IV Fee bill generated, paid online $400

2009-11-03: DS-230 mailed to NVC

2009-12-11: Case Completed at NVC

Hi!! They asked very simple questions.

How did we meet?

When was my first trip to Brasil?

When was the wedding?

Did our parents meet at any time during the year?

Does the spouse speak Portuguese?

Maybe one or 2 more. She told me but I forgot. She can tell you on Orkut. But the officer never asked for pictures or anything unusual. Then he said "Your visa is approved." :D
