I just received word of a delayed interview that was a result of the Consulate waiting for a report from the POE that denied entry on the VWP. I doubt it will impact the result but it has delayed the interview at least 60 to 90 days.

Canadians don't enter the US on the VWP. They have a special privilege. However, I would expect a similar issue for any denial of entry whether Canada, VWP or B1/B2 visa.

For what it's worth - Lars was denied entry in October/2008 and sent back to Copenhagen and it had NO impact on his interview. No delays, nothing. They asked him what happened and that was it.

03/26/09 : NOA1

09/23/09 : NOA2

11/13/09 : APPROVED and visa in hand!!!

A few Canadians that were denied entry during the K-1 process and had a report written on them, sometimes fingerprinting was done and photo's taken, it was brought up at the interview. The Consulate in Canada in those cases had something accessible on-screen, the report, which they referred to. I'm surprised it wouldn't be in such a database in London as well.

Same for my fiance from France. He was denied entry under VWP in 2008, was sent back to France immediately. No interview delay or whatsoever. He just had to mention that in his DS-156 form and even explained the situation to the CO during his interview. He got his K-1 visa after all that.

How was the individual involved in being delayed informed that his/her interview was delayed specifically due to the VWP entry denial? More detail would make this post more useful.

More than two months after returning the P3 and no P4, the beneficiary called the Consulate and asked. That's what he was told.

I agree, a source would be nice.

By the way, I just got word that the London Embassy are giving out free donuts in the waiting room.

I find that information to be highly suspect and unreliable. Unless it was in writing, I would not believe that to be the true reason. London occasionally takes longer in scheduling interview appointments, for whatever reason. Mostly due to mislaying a file, which is much more likely the case here. Furthermore, the embassy 800 number does not give information over the phone. They give the caller an email code so that he/she may write to the embassy and wait for an email response.

Get the facts before posting misleading information.
