You only need to send one check for $545.

Also, I agree with the post above that you should include that you have filed taxes together. You want to send any financial proof that you have (which you did with the bank statements and the car title showing transfer).

You can also send a letter from friends/relatives if you'd like.

The rest looks good

Do you have Taxes together??

We have filed joint taxes the last 3 years together... but I don't have copies of the paperwork. I could request tax transcripts from the IRS but that can take a couple weeks. I may be able to have HR Block fax a copy of our 2008 return, that should be enough, right?

I have a couple of comments, some were mentioned but it won't hurt to get the same answers to put your mind at ease.

1. You should send a single check for the total amount of $545 and it is recommended a personal check (you can verify it clearing in your bank).

- Make sure you write the information correctly, and make it payable to U.S Department of Homeland Security

2. you mentioned a photocopy of the GC - make sure front and back.

3. No need for the UK passport photocopies unless they show some traveling to support your evidence (travel together).

4. Do you have any utility bills? Even a cellphone plan showing a family plan?

5. Taxes... very important (mentioned by others)

A final comment - make sure you send it in some form that will allow you to track it or receive a delivery confirmation.

Good luck!

Per USCIS website, you can send one check for the full amount (filing fee + biometrics) or 2 separate checks. For our initial AOS, we sent separate checks so i did it that way this time too. I know about sending everything with delivery confirmation, etc. Been at this immigration stuff for awhile! We don't have any utility bills, so that doesn't help. From what I've read on this site and others, I'm not convinced that letters from friends carry all that much weight. The affidavit of joint residence is from my parents stating that we've been living with them since Danny arrived in the US and are a legitimate married couple, etc. I guess the only thing I'm concerned about is the taxes, like do we really *need* to send them, or have people been approved without? If it's imperative to have taxes, it really necessary to have 2007 and 2008 or will the most recent year suffice? Just wondering what peoples' experiences have been.

I didn't send the tax transcripts that everyone has mentioned, but we did send information that our accountant had given us (that showed that we jointly paid taxes from in '07 and '08).

Tax information is very strong proof of relationship and since it's better to be safe than sorry - I personally suggest sending something. You must have something at your house, right?

Also, and I I hope you don't roll your eyes at this like you did v333k because we're only trying to help, but you can send copies of your DL or anything else that shows that you live at the same residence (besides the letter from your parents of course).

We sent a copy of my hubby's passport like you did (since it was on the example cover letter).

Good luck!

One thing here in the states - and I am sure you know this - everything trickles down to the $$$$. USCIS sees financial "trust" as one of the most important proofs.

Besides this, your evidence looks good and the parents' affidavits will come in very handy.

Good luck on your ROC journey!!!

I would definitely call the IRS toll free number and get the transcripts. Ours came in 5 days. I think they are an important piece of evidence, takes minimal time and effort to get them, and even if you don't send them now, at least you will have them if you get a RFE.

I also think 3 years of transcripts is much better than one.

IMO tax transcripts would be better than any single piece of evidence you currently have.

Call IRS and tell them you are by a fax machine so they could fax you whatever you need in minutes. We applied for my N-400, and we could not find a copy of 2006 tax return. We called IRS and they faxed it to us while we were by a fax machine to make sure we received it.

Good luck
