Romantic Plan on Christmas?

Ok let us put aside those questions like "why do yada yada marry yada yada from yada yada country". It is really getting old and it is dividing the people in here whereas we're are supposed to be supporting each other because we are all in same boat...we want to be together with our love ones in the US and it's none of our business to question them why do they marry that person. (period)

Anyway, this is going to be my first Christmas here in the US and my first Christmas together with my husband. I wonder how are you guys are going to celebrate this Christmas with your husband/wife. Do you have any romantic plan or ideas that you could share? Few more days to go and I still have no idea how and where are we gonna celebrate our Christmas. My typical Christmas in the Philippines...my family and I will prepare a dinner @ 12MN on the 24th/ 12AM on 25th and my Dad will read the Bible and say a prayer and then we will eat and sing in karaoke and bring food to the neighbor and you will get something in return too. So I wonder, maybe i could get some ideas from you guys on how are we going to celebrate our first Christmas together. Btw, my husband is not so close with his family so I am not sure if we're going to celebrate with them...so maybe it is just going to be me and my husband...and the baby inside my womb :D

My wife will be flying in on Christmas Eve, and a couple days after Christmas, the two of us are going to drive up to my family's cabin by the lake in a very small town. It's more of a house than a cabin, given that it has all the convenient appliances etc., but basically we're just going to spend four days curled up in front of a wood-burning stove, enjoying one another's company. :)

since i got lucky and got the 24th off, i'll put up the tree and cook that day. the menu is a mix of usa and brazil xmas food, no turkey this year because i had a bad turkey experience on thanksgiving and i dont even wanna hear the word turkey until next thanksgiving.

so honey ham, cooked with cloves, then put in a plate with peaches and pineapple; homemade cranberry sauce; garlic mashed potato; biscuits; greek rice (rice with 3 color bellpepper, carrots, onions, raisins and spices) and coconut cream pie for dessert. for drinks charles will probably have eggnog with wild turkey and i'll have beer. we'll eat so much we cannot move, so i'll probably spend the rest of the day in bed watching xmas movies. charles loves his internet, so he'll probably be doing whatever it is he wants to do online.

we'll probably not have sex since it's the day before xmas and we are not supposed to be naughty lol, plus with all that food who wants to even think of it?

on the 25th we'll open gifts, take lots of pics in front of the tree and eat leftovers. dunno about sex, have to check my calendar,

first xmas with the baby will be special.

You can book a last-minute trip through Apple Vacations or off of travelzoo.com or another site like that for very cheap. My wife and I flew down to the Dominican Republic a few years back when we had some money. We went to an all-inclusive resort and it was simply awesome. They were playing Jingle Bells as we walked to our room. Kind of funny for us coming from cold and snow to palm trees, sun, sand.... and Santa!

We just kind of hung out with family last year. This year we're broker than the health care plan so there's no telling what we'll do. We'll probably just sit on the couch, get drunk and watch Ralphie shoot his Red Ryder - "You'll shoot your eye out. You'll shoot your eye out!" I've gotta watch Bad Santa this year too. It's been too long and I have the biggest crush on Lauren Graham.

Yeah, pretty much American tradition - get drunk and watch TV. Good luck!

Same here. Well... at least once the cooking, cleaning and decorating is all done.

On this Christmas my GF has decided for Yosemite I don't have any idea regarding the place nor anything.

Sounds awesome. I've never been but have heard a lot about it and it sounds very cool.
