Way to go at addressing his valid point about -why other similar type illnesses were not also removed from the ban.

... or do you think you can catch those by simply being looked at?

Personally, I could not care less, I have a better chance of being struck by lighting than Getting AIDS.

For citizens in other demographics, the odds may be a lot be different.

Fact is, when people travel they some times have sex or engage in other risky behavior, if this change of law were to bring even a thousand infected persons a year into our country... think of the number of citizens that will be infected because of this.

I'm sure if we checked into it there are other things on the communicable-list that should have been removed before this.

Again, it has no impact on my life so it's not a concern either way for me.

LOL you really missed my point. I was getting at the fact that TB can be spread through many different ways...to the point where being in the same room creates a certain risk level, HIV does not. Guess I had to spell it out for you....but given its you talking I shouldn't be surprised.

Sure all of us that brought people here had to go through the I-693.

From the I-693 instructions:

"Give Pre-Test and Post-Test Counseling for HIV/

AIDS. All civil surgeons must give pre-test counseling to

any applicant who is tested for HIV. The pre-test

counseling must include an explanation of the purpose of

the test and basic information about HIV. Civil surgeons

must also provide post-test counseling to all applicants

who test HIV positive. You must provide information to

the applicant about the test results, the prognosis, the

ways the applicant can protect himself or herself from

opportunistic infections, the ways the applicant can

protect others from HIV transmission, and referrals for

counseling and early medical intervention. You will find

specific instructions about these pre-test and post-test

requirements in CDC's Technical Instructions."

That were dated (Rev. 06/05/08), still that is all that is required is the applicant has to agree to counseling, we applied over six years ago with far a far simplified form and instructions, if the applicant had any known communicable disease, only had to agree to counseling to be admitted. Made me wonder why I had to lay out all that cash for all those tests, but was nice to know, both my wife and daughter were 100% negative.

Believe that Bush was president in 06/05/08 with this far more restrictive form.
