WELL,

Perseverance helps. I just got off the phone with the Damascus embassy, and hubby has a new interview set for November 8, 2009.

He actually contracted a serious virus which led him to be hospitalized for over a week with pneumonia like symptoms. He had been freaked out about the swine flu issue (apparently it is now in Syria as well), but thankfully it is not swine flu. Just needs some antibiotics, chicken soup, and a lot of sleep. And he's got his medical all done as well, thank God, so we are set to go!

Anyone else have an interview in November? Join me....for we are no longer with the October bunch :D

lol

It's raining and ####### outside, but I'm so happy.... :D:thumbs:

thanks guys!

actually, this kind of is weird but it is better this way. since we will have been married for 2 years come november 1st, this means that he can hopefully just get a straight IR-1 visa pending the interview's results. so at least we won't have to worry about removing conditions or anything later, and from what i've been reading, he can apply for citizenship in just 3 years...

maybe everything does happen for a reason. :)

good luck to everyone else having interviews in november!!!!

My husband's date for interview has changed from oct 28 to nov 19 :crying: isn't Pakistan lovely

I know what you mean. We drove all the way there and all they did for us was switch ours from Oct 26th to Nov 23. Even my husband begged them "please nmy wife is 5 months pregnant, travelling 6 hours back and forth is difficult, she will be 6 months then, can't we have an early date?" and the guy said "Nov 23rd is the earliest date we have available for those affected by the closure, everyone else is getting Dec 15th or 16th." SSB, I think we should email the embassy too and try to see if perhaps, Insha'Allah, they would be able to move our dates up as well? Did they say anything to you about a new scheduling letter? Because they told Zaheer that he doesn't need one, just write down the new date on the old letter. What do you think?

Kat, I'm so sorry about Sam getting sick just at the time of the interview. But yes, as you said, everything happens for a reason. Anyway, hope he'll be getting better these days and nothing serious with his health now... Take care, hun (F)(L)
