$276.00, motorhome in Wisconsin, but come on, put some meaningful in this question. Only thing meaningful is the fuel cost per passenger mile. If I cram 20 people in my motorhome that I can do, cost per passenger mile is 0.9 cents, try and beat that with your Hondas. Precisely why they are trying to jam a thousand people in an airplane.

Well, it costs me about 25 dollars to fill up my Toyota Corolla here in upstate New York. That will get me a little over 400 miles (no jack rabbit starts, use cruise control whenever possible). If I put 5 people in my Corolla (which I actually do sometimes), it costs me 1.25 cents per mile per passenger. When was the last time you drove a considerable distance with 20 people in your motor home?

But more generally to the question, you also need to consider car cost. A Prius will get up to 5-10 more miles to the gallon than my Corolla. But even if gas cost $4 a gallon, the difference in fuel economy wouldn't pay for the difference in sticker price until I drove over 300,000 miles. I'll take the $9000 up front and a slightly worse fuel economy.
