After a thorough investigations, and research I learned that the Republicans were right about health care in terms of cost. It'll definitely burden the tax payers. If you work, and have health coverage through your employer, the employer pay a certain portion. A government run health care will work if, and only if it only applies to a small percentage of people meeting certain income requirements.

I never like Barney Frank. But, I will use him to grant me research. He lied that he supported ofshore drilling.

You have to factor in the savings realized from the reform. America already spends more than most developed countries. A good portion of that money simply gets funneled to shareholders and executives.

No one ever said a government run program was for everyone. It's basically a HMO for those who currently have no insurance. The other part of the reform is simply strengthening existing coverage.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

So we spend more than others. With this reform we will be spending even more. It is looking like a trillion dollar cost and that is on top of what we pay for health care now. Of course anytime the government has started anything is usually at least triples in cost. So where is this savings?

Dimocrats do

Is it possible for people on this site to act like adults? Must you constantly resort to what you apparently see as wit, but what others see as a total lack of creativity and ignorance?!

Seriously.

I have all the health insurance I need, and don't feel like paying for someone else to get it. Bottom Line!

To me, insurance is just a legalized form of gambling, and if I didn't need it, wouldn't have it, but since I'm not a gambler... I pay.

have you heard what congress has up it's sleeve for tricare? about a 13 times increase in yearly enrollment costs, for me it would jump from $470 a year to $6k or so.

makes my retirement and earned benefits more worthless all the time

I think the concept that the far left has is a good one, because in the end if everyone who can pay forked over their money to a collective pool that was ran with no profit incentive, more people would be covered at a lower cost than those of us that are currently paying are paying.

Problem is- that aint gonna happen. You have to force everyone who can pay to start kicking in probably about $250 a month. For some of us the exchange is perfectly pallatable. I lose my insurance deduction and I gain a us medical deduction. To me its a wash. To other people its an outright tax increase and 1) Obama already promised that won't happen and 2) Obama says he's not for this system. There are even a bunch of people who wouldn't see it as a wash anyway.

Any other plan than this is just going to add expenses, and for Obama to get up there and say "not one dime will be added to the deficit" simply insults our intelligence. "Cost-Reductions from existing programs"- yeah, okay.

The other problem is the oversight of the pool of money. Wasn't their supposed to be some oversight of the ACORN money? Look how that turned out.

And to think that will be a start. Just imagine the Federal bureaucracy gets its hands on all that power and money.
