Wow, that was nerve wracking! We had to wait quite a while. Then a young lady called us back and didn't shake our hands or introduce herself. We went to her office and then told us her name. She was very stern and immediately had problems with some of our documents. She didn't like that my pay stubs had my former address on them and I tried to explain that my company just doesn't have their acts together. She then started asking a lot of questions about our relationship and my husband was so nervous he even almost forgot our address. I got really scared that she would think he was lying because he was so nervous. She asked a ton more questions about our relationship and started asking him if he planned to stay here and if he planned to ask me to marry him. I got nervous at that point but we had evidence if she asked. Luckily after that she just looked at our pictures and then went to photocopy some stuff. When she came back she asked if he had immediate travel plans and then she typed up his approval letter and then she smiled and was much nicer. I know she was just doing her job. Part of the problem is she had a slight accent and spoke kinda fast, so my husband had a slight hard time understanding her.

We are totally thrilled that we were approved on the spot and are so glad to just enjoy our lives now. At least for 2 years!!!

2-year green card application:

07/29/2009- Mailed I-130, I-485, I-693, I-864, I-864A, G-325A, I-765 via USPS.

08/02/2009- Package delivered to Chicago.

08/06/2009- Checks cashed.

08/10/2009- Received NOA's for I-485, I-130, I-765 (issued August 6th).

08/19/2009- Recieved Biometrics Appointment notice (bio apt 9/12 at 9am).

08/21/2009- Recieved RFE for I-485 (issued August 17th).

08/22/2009- Responded to RFE.

09/01/2009- Case processing resumed (RFE recieved on 8/27/2009).

09/01/2009- Walk-in biometrics at 1:00pm, in and out in 15mins.

09/09/2009- Recieved e-mail: EAD card production ordered on 09/08/2009.

09/14/2009- Recieved another e-mail: EAD card production ordered (AGAIN!) on 09/11/2009.

09/16/2009- EAD recieved in the mail.

09/21/2009- Applied for a SSN.

Thanks all. :) Yea, glad you get it now! :)

Yea she asked for anything showing "joint assets" so I gave her our joint checking, joint lease, joint health insurance and joint auto insurance. Only other thing was pictures.

She wasn't "mean" per se... just a little intimidating! :)

Wooo... just got a "card production ordered" email! I'm so excited! Thanks everyone for all the good info here... I truly feel like we wasted our money getting a lawyer as he just sat there doing absolutely nothing the entire interview... but it was piece of mind knowing all my paperwork got filed properly!

:D Now I wanna see the Saspak message saying theirs is approved too!

Jan 9 2010 entered and activated green card though PHL port of entry

waiting for SSN requested with DS230 and 10 years GC

01-30 received tracking number for GC Welcome issued on 01-27

but not yet SSN

SSN expected by Feb 20 else I might go and ask for one regardless of DS230

Feb 3 2010 update card ordered says to allow for 30 days

Feb 8 2010 update saying approval notice sent

Feb 12 2010 received GC card Permanent resident valid till 2020

Feb 18 2010 went to file ss5 for ssn card as not yet received and center would not find me in ssn files

I have only just been catching up today and saw your posts.

I think our interview will be at the same office.

We finally have his medical records that are barely readable then we will book the medical with the surgeon you used.

I am so pleased for you that it went well.

Thanks guys! Good luck to you Song!! If you have never been to the building in Fairfax, just to let you know we had a bit of a hard time finding the building and the parking lot! We ended up parking across the street at the Dunn Loring Metro and walking over. If you need any advice or help let me know. :)

Thank you Saspk! I am really worried for you and hope everything works out. Don't give up! Its a very painful process and costly... so don't throw in the towel until you know the outcome!! Don't abandon your application.
