So these posts got me thinkin', do you have a money-pit? What is it?

What do you need algebra for? Should put far more emphasis on adding and subtraction so a person knows they got a loan with payments that exceeds their income. Bankers can't even add nor subtract.

Ha! The Jeep is almost paid off. So, there!

We (ahem HE) have two - the boat and the blazer. Essentially these two things will prevent us from ever owning a home.

Nope. Everything I own is paid for, house included.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Our major money pits are the federal and state IRS, the property tax bill, and the fact that our electrical and natural gas rates have more than doubled in the last three years. We can both quit working to avoid income tax, but would lose our home if we don't pay property taxes.

We know we are getting screwed by both the cellular phone and cable companies for what little energy services they provide, on them constantly to threaten to change in a small attempt to keep them under some form of control.

If you have to shell out 75-125 bucks an hour for some idiot to keep your boat or vehicle running that doesn't know what he is doing, these items can really be a money pit. With vehicles, found a new way to rob us with OBD II, 5,300 bucks for a ten buck scanner and esoteric firmware they won't let you download. Can get by without the scanner by knowing how an engine works, but get held up by my dealer if I need my ram reflashed. Then you are paying with post tax dollars where the government can really screw you.

Can you believe OMC wants 900 bucks for a 2" diameter bevel gear in the upper drive train for an IO? We got a kayak that doesn't need any gears, can take it to the best lakes where they don't allow powered boats, screw you back OMC. Any RV replacement part is totally outrageous, our ATV is a bicycle, still have fun, get out, and get some exercise in the process.

We no longer live in an honest society, screwing each other is the name of the game.

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.

Don't even get me started on those. I'm with Verizon so while they are good, however, I pay out of the azz to use them.

Comcast is a ripoff too. All while their first 100 channels are not even digital. Boy do I miss our 30+ broadband choices in Melbourne, Aus.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Oh Julia yeah! Flights are mine too!!!

Just yesterday I had a talk with my mom about how I just cannot understand how my Credit card debt is up so much. I pay steadily on it so why does it never seem to go down!! Then I realized! In the past 3.5 years (all returns), 1 flight to Australia from the US, 3 flights to London from the US, 1 flight to Italy from London, and 1 flight to Brazil from the US. Plus 1 one-way flight to the US from London and 1 one-way flight from Italy to Brazil.

Yep, that'll do it.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
