I'm becoming frustrated with this process. Every day I check USCIS - though I have signed up for email notification - to see if there is any good news.

My wife is in Iran and you probably know about the situation there. I'm just praying to get her out of the country ASAP, safe and sound. :(

What can/should I do?

I say "complain".. I see people who don't complain and then get the denial notice.. we were about too also, but I fought for my wife.. :star: haha, I'm frustrated with people saying to wait.. we can do more than that..

this is an example of what happens if you "wait".. they did something, but not enough.. how much effort are you willing to put into saving your case and marriage? I have seen people get divorced too..

Armin, I second this. Exact same thing is with my case, USCIS site is useless and so is their personnel.

However, you can research the next phase, prepare your documentation (birth certificates, marriage cert., taxes, financials,... do all the translations needed, etc. Be as ready for NVC as you can be by reading the guides and reading the forums.

Most importantly, work on your relationship with your wife, this process sucks the life out of you, my husband and I were so many times at a braking point since we started this process, we have never felt more distant to one another than through this process. At the same time, when we tried to make it better, then it was never as good as it was when we would successfully complete a part of it. So, just keep in mind to talk to her openly and calmly about everything and don't let the wait suck you two dry.

Good luck.

If you have any questions, PM me and I will answer to the best of my abilities. Husband and I are currently awaiting an interview...

Again, I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks dear friends. :)

I have already prepared every thing for NVC and maybe that's the reason I'm becoming frustrated.

The other issue is I was expecting NOA2 by late Aug or later but then I checked Vermont processing time and it says 5 month for I-130 and mine is already 5 months and 17 days... and counting... Do you think if goes into 6 month time, should I contact USCIS or it's a waste of time and maybe writing a letter to senator and explaining the situation might be of little help?

ps) hopefully so far things have been gr8 b/w my wife and I, knock on wood though :)

I remember when I was calling to check on our status they kept telling me that it takes 6 months for approval, so definitely once it hits the 6 month mark you can dig in with your teeth and request to speak with supervisors, senators, whoever ... Because their "standard processing time" IS 6 months as they state, before then you really don't have any grounds to request that they look at your case. 6 month mark, however, is a whole 'nother ball park

I wish I can be of help, but it seems all you can do for the next couple weeks is just wait...

At least you are all complete with NVC stuff, because that phase is a breeze if you got all documents ready!

July 28 would mark the 6 month and July 29 I'm after them :)

I just waited until it came in the mail. I went through CSC though when they were REALLY quick. Things all around have slowed to molasses speed. Sorry.
