What is a potential age different between spouse? How older could a husband be to his wife and how older could a wife be to his husband? Can a decade of age different be a factor for refusal by an Immigration officer and claiming its either for immigration purposes or to avoid immigration proceedings?

There are no set age difference thresholds - there are plenty of May/December relationships on VJ who were successful in the process (some with 20-30 year differences).

I don't see why a decade of age difference could be a problem! My husband is 11 years older than me. Does it mean he doesn't have the right to be loved and to love? Does it make him different than me? Where does it say you should only marry people your age? I think they pay attention to the age gap when the woman is older than the man and they're from a Muslim country. But still that doesn't mean it's a problem... relax and get ready with patience for the long visa journey

Like it or not, a decade of age difference is nothing, and sometimes three decades is no big issue when the man is older. However, particularly when it is out of the cultural norm, the woman being much older can present a huge red flag, particularly when the man is Muslim and she's too old to bear his children. Everything is circumstancial. You'll never see age difference cited as the reason for denial but it's a factor in evaluating whether the relationship is bona fide instead of just entered into to obtain an immigration benefit.

Hey remember u dont love someone just bcz he is young or he is old.

u love someone just because u fall in love

my wife is 33 years younger than me but since we met , we never discuss the age so in the interview i dont think it will be a matter,

just speak the truth

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

I have to agree. It can be a factor when the woman is much older. Couples like that get approved all the time but they may have more to "prove".

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
