Proof of ongoing relationship when you are living in the same country?

I've been staying with my fiance and her family for the past 5 months, in that case what am i supposed to show as proof of "ongoing relationship"? We have no phone records, no emails and no letters :|

We did travel twice and i have flight/hotel information...and of course pictures.

My fiance and I had the same situation, however, we rented an apartment together so we had our rental agreement. In your case, show photos for the time you lived together, and then emails, letters etc for the rest of the two year period.

Thanks, yeah at least some of the hotels and airline tickets have both of our names on them.

Not all the time the consul will be asking for letters and emails...but if they're going to, your fiance can explain to them why you don't have those. On my interview they only asked for letters and photos. I only have few letters since we always talk online everyday...the consul didn't even care to read the letters or look at it...only the photos. So i think you'll be fine

We had the same situation. we also had a rental agreement but it was only in my name. Being together is the best evidence. I moved to Nicaragua to be with my love during the K-1 waiting period. We showed photos records of classes taken and a gym membership. The trip stuff is good. At our interview the women really seem to be impressed with how many times I had visited my man in the past few years. Good Luck!

I live with her family, i have nothing stating the fact that i live here with mine and her name on it (like a lease or anything), thanks for the constructive responses from other members, a family letter is a good idea.

I agree with Gary, you live with him, therefore you have the BEST EVIDENCE POSSIBLE.

I assume that somewhere on your passport you have evidence that you went to Indonesia and then you'll have boarding passes from when you arrived and boarding passes from when you left (if you are leaving before the interview). That's all you'll need really. Letters from the family saying that you are there. How have you been getting money while you are there? Have you been using your credit cards or ATM card?? Take the receipts from the ATM machines (which have the name of the town your fiance lives in) and show those as evidence, show credit card statements showing you bought stuff in that town. Are you doing anything while you are there? Going to the gym, staying in any hotels (at all---if you do, get them to put both of your names on receipts), photos, ect.

If you are living there they will not require letters and emails from that time. Just prove that you were there (in that town) during that amount of time.

Sorry if you thought my question was not constructive, but if you need the answer to this, exactly how do you intend to prove the realtionship for AOS?

By the way, I live with my wife and send her emails every day, sometimes when we are in the same room. I have no trouble at all to prove I live with her and wouldn't need to ask how to do it.

I disagree, and I disagree with all others here who are advocating a cavalier attitude or one of reading the minds of consular officers.

At one consulate at least, and not in a country known for fraudulent activity, a CR-1 couple with a straightforward application (evidence that would convince reasonable persons of the relationship's validity) were gratuitously put on 221(g) status while the consulate made thinly disguised phone calls around the country to try to catch the couple's family and friends in the slightest inconsistency.

I become increasingly incredulous toward the common VJ posts of "you will be fine" when there is no possible way to know anything of the sort with 100% certainty.

I don't think any of us (excluding the last poster who is clearly just messing with you) said that for sure 100% they would be fine. Gary or I didn't say that at all.

We simply said that since they live together they should have plenty of evidence to show that they are in a genuine relationship. Do you see the difference there???

It's clear now to all (thank you), and your suggestions were good ones. My post was meant chiefly for any readers of this thread who would "relax" and misinterpret the situation as one of "we live together, so there's no worry." Little reminder is needed that COs everywhere can be having a bad day and will feel like "rousting" somebody, and that even at "easy" consulates, new personnel can be transferred in and interview policies/standards can change overnight, without warning. At any rate, perhaps we can agree that the OP would do well to scope EVERY review of the Indonesian embassy and pay attention to the very worst reports, along with the more standard reports about what the evidentiary requirements predominantly are.
