Who of you uses a body pillow to sleep? I just want advice if it is worth buying one. It is getting really hard for me to sleep and I am wondering if a pillow is a solution.

Thank you for your feedback!

I used a regular body pillow from SEARS and I loved it. It really got me through those last weeks when your belly is just so big to be comfortable. The pillow was 10 Bucks and a case cost about the same I think. I still use mine and my husband got himself one too.

Right now Lena and I are counting down the hours as our son is due on the 6th. Last week on Monday her Blood preasure spiked up and then went up again on Wedensday so they put her in the hospital. That's back down to normal but the little ####### has just been sitting there happy as a clam just where he's at. So we're hoping that something happens soon!!! We're both on pins and needles. Funny thing is that I was not near this nervous with my two older kids, of course I was right there not 5k miles away.

Hi All!

I am here and so is Amirah Bethany!

My water broke on the morning of the 24th, I went to the hospital to find that my cervix wasnt ripened or dilated at all... spent all that day with that ripening gel and started pitocin the next morning. after a few hours my doc decided that because the babys heartbeat was slowing everytime I had a contraction it was time for a C-section. I am afraid I wasnt a good sport about it at all. I pretty much had a meltdown. well, a couple of meltdowns. they had to give me some anti-anxiety meds just to I could get ahold of myself enough to get a spinal in the OR. Recovery has been hideous, I just find it so hard to be helpless to the point that I need someone else to pull up my underwear, let alone not being able to pick up my baby. THANK GOD my husband has been a gem. He stepped right up to the plate and has done everything for me and for baby.

The GOOD news is that my little 7 pound daughter is wonderful, she already sleeps 4 or 5 hours at a time and eats 3 or 4 ounces. She didnt even lose any birthweight and has gained 4 ounces! So now we are settling in and things are great....

@Lyuba - yes the body pillows are totally worth it!

Sara,

Congratulations! I hope your recovery gets better, sorry things were so rough with the C sect. :( But what a cutie! That's such a cute pic of her and daddy too! (F)

Yesterday was my baby shower. It was really nice and fun. :) We got a lot of the big things we needed, so we won't have to spend that much ourselves for some necessities that are left. We just need some smaller things now. But we got tons of diapers, and a lot of things off of my Walmart registry, and some things off of my Target registry. Really great! I am so thankful. :luv:

Congratulations Sara, have fun with your little addition. Sorry about the C-section, hope you'll feel better soon.

Stina: sounds like your babyshower was fun. I never had one but still got a lot of stuff from family. All the best.

Eveline, thanks. :)

I have a Q for you and any others who can answer!

Did you use a boppy pillow? You know the kind that support your arms during nursing or just while holding the baby. I am debating if it's worth it or not yet. I do want one, but is it really so helpful? If so, then I'll definitely get one.

I have a boppy...it came in very handy right after the C/section. Then I didn't use it for a while because you learn how to breastfeed in any position and now I'm back to it since I nurse Adam to sleep. i use mine problably 5 Times a day and I wouldn't want to miss it. I saw 'cheaper' ones at Ross. I think they were 16 bucks instead of 20 or so.

is it bad that I don't want to breastfeed?

I don't want to be the only one who is responsible for feeding the baby...

I know I could pump but I did that last time and I felt like a cow attached to a milking machine... I used one of those automatic pumpers...

the only way I would breastfeed or pump, is if I had a preemie baby again....

*****

congrast on your baby girl, Sara (F)

I have a feeling I am having a girl too... the last time I had the feeling that I was having a boy.....
