Has anyone checked into dual citizenship for the new babies to be, or for anyone who has already had a baby?

I'm going to look into it before our baby is born but was wondering if anyone else has thought of this.

I've not posted on the original thread, but can't resist now:

1)Christina & Sujeet's friend-Feb 10th, 2006-GIRL(Elianna)

2)Alessandra & Eric: due March, 4th 2006 - baby nr 1- BOY(Sean)

3)Bill and Kc: due June 15, 2006 -- it's a boy!

4)Patricia & Andy: due Aug 1, 2006- baby nr. 6 - ??

5)m and m20: due August 12, 2006(to be confirmed)-baby nr. 1 - ??

6)Kiki & Kevin: due August 29th, 2006- baby number 3 (1st biological child for Kev)-??

7)Reinhard & Nani: due sometime in September(to be confirmed) -baby nr. 1-??

8) Faith due July 23 (or thereabouts)

First child for both of us. Very excited, but apprehensive at the same time! What with work, daycare, finances, all the baby stuff.

I looked into dual citizenship on the Russian consulate web site, and it's a lot more involved than compared to registering the birth if we both were just Russian citizens living in the US. More paperwork and more fees!

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

I suppose congratulations are in order! Don't worry about the small stuff - we don't anymore. Mom & Dad said the small stuff (work, daycare, money, etc.) has a way of working itself out. My parents raised four kids with much less at their disposal. So, they should know. It'll be alright!

Congrats again and Best Wishes!

For Italy it is very simple, all I have to do is register the baby's birth at the Vital Statistics office at the Italian consulate here in the US, once the registration gets to Italy they automatically start the citizenship process. So he'll be automatically dual.
