Looks like you entered the US on April 24th and got married a month later.

Like YuAnd Dan said, you are eligible to apply for a SSN.

Unfortunately you might find youself face to face with an employee at the SS office that will refuse to give you a SSN because you are already married (they argue that this implements a change of status which is bogus as long as you are still in the 75 days timeframe upon your arrival in the US on a K1). That happened to me. What a pain in the... Check out this guide here at VJ, it's helpful and print out the RM document, you might need it to convince the office employees.

Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for you though, I've heard of others that got their SSN after marriage without problems.

just curious... but what do you need a SSN for? you won't be able to work with it since you don't have employment authorization.

wat if at POE they have stamped EAD on your passport. You could work then right?!

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift; that'swhy they call it "the present".

If you can find someone to hire you... If/when you are asked to fill out the I-9 (a pre-requisite for employment) .... that is where the problem is.

YMMV

If your I-94 is not within 14 days of expiration, yes. Otherwise you have to wait until you receive an EAD or GC

No. You will not have the documents needed for the I-9 form required for all employers. The SSN is useful for bank accounts, education. drivers lisences and many other functions, not necessary, but nice to have.

As long as your I-94 valid. you can apply for SSN. I applied for SSN right after a week of my arrival with no problems. But I got my ssn after 4 weeks.

Having SSN when you land is a good thing. Atleast it shows that you have some sort of ID (If applicable).

not completely true... the I-94 must have a minimum of two weeks of remaining validity or SSA will not accept an application

YMMV
