All,

Anyone here with a recent experience of POE being at JFK ???? I have read conflicting stories about whether or not the X-Ray of a fiancee' must be presented to the USCIS officer at the POE.

Question is, do I need to have it available with me along with my fiancee's brown sealed envelope or can I pack it on my suite case since it's a huge X-Ray envelope (almost as big as my largest suite case)?

Thanks in advance and have a wonderful day. :D

P.S.: I couldn't find a POE forum, so I posted here. Moderators, please move this topic to where it belongs...Thanks

We transited JFK and NO x-ray was asked for. Nobody at the POE is qualified to read it. All pertinent information was included in the medical forms from the exam.

The Embassy where he / she interviewed at is supposed to take the x-ray from you / your SO. If not them the POE doesnt ask for it. The only thing they are looking for is the big envelope.

They didnt take my SO's x-ray at his interview and the POE (JFK) didnt ask for it or take it from him.

I don't think this is true either... rarely if at all does the consulate require the x-ray either.

For the OP... Kyiv is not interested in the x-ray.

They didn't ask for mine in Feb. When you think about it, that wouldn't make sense as they are not MDs and have not qualifications whatsoever to read the X-Ray. However, keep it in safe place as it is valid for a year and might be asked in some situations after arrival :)

My recent experience was NO, but it was last September. Alla had her medical and took the report and x-ray to the interview in August, when I returned from that trip i brought a lot of her things with me...including the x-ray which is now in the bottom drawer of my desk. She didn't have it with her when she arrived and they never asked for it. She needed nothing but her passport and the "sealed envelope", and I-94 of course

True. Alla brought the x-ray to the interview and they did not need to see it. We brought everything but the kitchen sink to the interview and that was just outside, they weren't interested in looking at much at all.

Thanks for all the replies...It seems that the bottom line is that if during POE at JFK, If USCIS has an MD there, then they can ask for it, otherwise, it's a no no....I'll keep it in the suit case then...

Thanks guys !!!!!!!!

Thanks guys !!!!!!!!

who indicated that JFK has a MD with the USCIS? USCIS has no presence at JFK AFAIK.

the reason for the medical is to determine if an alien has a medical condition causing them to be ineligible to enter. If the alien is ineligible to enter, then NO visa would have been issued. They make this determination AT the consulate.

No one indicated....I just read all the answer and compiled them into a single sentence.... I took in consideration all replies as well as this when compiling my conclusion: "They didn't ask for mine in Feb. I don't think there is any one from USCIS at POE airports. There are customs and homeland security officers that do the processing. Never heard of a need for an x-ray, and we didn't need one (in Atlanta).

It is US Customs and Border Patrol at the airports. I took your comment to be a bit tongue in cheek.
