I think there's been some great showmen (Steve Tyler, David Lee Roth, Bon Scott etc) but if I'm going for the best vocalist? Mmmmmmm, tough one. Really tough one. I think I'd just give it Rob Halford. Probably.

So many to choose from. I think most of the ones mentioned here are great choices. But I find that when this debate comes up, the one that usually gets left off the list is Freddie Mercury. I understand that some might be put off by his "life style" but when it comes to his vocals and stage presence, he's fighting for the top spot, in my opinion.

I definitely have to agree with you Easy Rider...Freddie Mercury had awesome vocals and was very creative. He did stuff that people didn't think would work & had great success...so my vote would be Freddie.
