I was wondering if anyone has received a waiver for a vaccine or several. I know that I have ALL of the required vaccines except the HPV vaccine and personally I don't want to receive the vaccine.

I do not want to start a debate on whether vaccinating is right or wrong, personally, I just don't believe there has been enough research into the HPV vaccine as there should have been before they started to administer it in mass numbers. I don't feel safe receiving this vaccine however, I am unsure of how much this will affect my application for AOS. :crying:

Has anybody received a waiver or had an experience with this?

i dont know, but i am surprised that they ask for that vaccine, given that in france, the public healht minister decided that not to give it to women when they have been sexually active something like more than 2 nyears, bc once you have it, the vaccine wil be inefficient. And it appears, statisticaly, that we are int ouch with that virus very ealry when we begin to have sexual relationship.

so for instance, for a woman thart is in her late 30's and have known about many males, or even a few but those ones were transmitter...so needless to say, it's a vaccine for NOTHING.

i really don't see the point of usa in wanting to give it massively to any female immigrant.

Vac Wavier

Looks like it will cost you $545.00 to file that - and wait for it to be approved before you they decide you case.

Any chance you'll age out of requiring the vaccine soon (the age limit is 26)? I'd be wary of applying for a waiver, since the instructions for the medical exam form state that if the waiver is denied, you may be ineligible for the immigration benefits you are applying for - not sure I'd want to take that chance! I do sympathise though, I wouldn't want to have it either, I was just lucky that I was just too old to have to.

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

Nope. No chance of me aging out of it any time soon. Not for a few years yet.

I'm really upset that they could make such a controversial and useless vaccine mandatory. I really am not sure of what I should do. *sigh*

If I do choose to get it I will only need the first dose to pass the medical as far as I know. If that's the case can I do that and then just NOT get the 2nd and 3rd or would they follow up and an interview later down the line to make sure I received the rest?

You can always talk to the doctor about it?

I believe several women on VJ have done just that.

I dunno it helps you or not but I sent I-693 without getting some shots and chest X-ray due to pregnancy with I-485, but at interview, I was just asked to re-send I-693 with chest X-ray. Not mentioned about those shots I was supposed to get.

<3 Koshi

Just need to wait for him to come out now then I'll get the card!

Can't remember exactly where I read this but I remember something about if you have an allergy to yeast you can be exempt from the vaccination. Maybe worth looking into.

I was in the same case and I really didn't want to have ( in france like someone already told you you do not get it if you already have more than 2years of sexual activities)

so I spoke to a normal doctor in my city she said that my country was stupid and I should do it ( I really hate how she reacted ) and was upset that nobody was agree on the good or bad effect of it !

So I went to the civil surgeon and she told me that you cannot write on the paper that the patient refuse a vaccin because the immigration won't accept that and send you back the paper until you do it , so we discuss and she said since you are married you are not suppose to have other partner and anyways if I already had we already would have transmit to each other so she tacks on the paper :Contra- indication !!!

and we didn't have any problems coming from the immigration about the vaccins !

spoke on the phone to the surgeon !

hope it works for you too

After reading this, I have a question..I am a USC petitioning an I-130 for my fiance (will be husband in 2 months) for AOS. Do I need to get biometrics done and this HPV vaccine? Or are vaccines/biometrics only for the alien relative to have done? If I need to get this vaccine I will most definitely also have problems with getting it..
