Local US CIS Office Review: Buffalo NY

Event Description
Review Date : September 4, 2009
Embassy Review : First off I adjusted from a B2 Visa. I arrived in November 2008 and was supposed to return to Australia in Feb, however, I changed my plane ticket to leave in May. I was married in April 5 months after I entered the U.S. and I had NO intentions of remaining in the U.S. when I arrived.

Anyhow, My interview appointment was at 2.15pm I arrived at about 2.05pm signed in and then went to the appropriate waiting room which was empty. A few people came out of the offices very happy so that made me a little more comfortable lol I'm not exactly sure what time we were called in I think it was about 2.25pm when a lady came out and called us in. She had us stand and swear we would tell the truth then we sat and she went through sme of the papers she already had then asked if I came in on a B2 Visa in November I said yes. THen she asked if I had any problems with immigration or police before I said no. She asked to see our photo album and while she was looking she asked how we met. She asked for joint documentation. I gave her a joint bank account from HSBC, a joint bank account from a credit union and a letter from my Australian bank saying that DH had access to that account too. And then also our loan papers for a loan of $1000 that we took out together(I have to say if you are looking for something simple with your names on it this is very easy!! We had his mum co-sign for us and it was great for the immigration interview AND to establish credit for the both of us). Afterwards she asked who some of the people in the photo's were and where some of them were taken. She asked about our puppy he was in some of the pictures and then went and took copies of the things we gave her. Came back sat down and said that we were approved today and that we had to file another from in June 2011 and said "With a fee of course we are the U.S. Government" which I thought was quite funny! Then she took my I-94 and my EAD Card and gave me the I-551 stamp which I didn't even have to ask for then we were out of there. By the time we had walked back to our car it was 2.45pm.

It was very easy and I was VERY over prepared which ws a good thing. For now I can use the I-551 Stamp but will get my Green Card in the mail within a week. She also said that when I file the removal of conditions if I send in enough joint documentation we should not have to have another interview!!

I hope this helps someone! Goodluck.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
