MsAnn, don't let it upset you. There's always a chance that they will move it up :innocent:

Members of this forum are so familiar with the word 'descheduled". Just for the heck of it I looked it up and found out that there's no such word in the dictionary. My interpretation of the word is that the schedule has been cancelled versus re-scheduled which means the schedule has been moved.

And it's just so typical of USCIS to send a 'deschedule' letter instead of waiting until they have a new schedule to save ink, paper and postage, and most of all, spare the applicants the stress.

Let's be honest, I hope that doesn't happen to me with 2 weeks to go, cause lets just say there's a possibility if it does I wouldn't be eligible for a rescheduled date as people in prison are not eligible for naturalization.

MsAnn, Did you call to find out? Or best bet would be to INFOPASS and ask #######

I attached an edited copy of the letter I received if anyone wants to know what it looks like. They didn't give a reason at all, just "unforeseen circumstances".

I'm not going to call or make an Infopass without waiting at least a month. I know this happens sometimes, but of course I'm whining, "Why me?" And DESCHEDULE is NOT a word, lol!! USCIS just makes words up. Anyway, good luck to the rest of you, I'll let you guys know if I hear anything else soon :)

It is either from research or merely my opinion.

Boy, that's cryptic. What "unforeseen circumstances"? Theirs or yours? And what they did, as they explain in the body, is cancel the interview while dangling only the possibility that the interview will be rescheduled by saying they'll let you know about "any" rescheduled interview. "Descheduling" is such a bureaucratic waffle/weasel word.

Meh

The Portland USCIS office is due to relocate by 2010, maybe they are moving in the month of AUG. It's also a possibility that people are taking their summer vacations? But I do home your De-scheduled (Cancelled) would be re-scheduled as soon as possilbe. Good luck and be patient

Great news! You'd think they could have just canceled the old date and set a new one all in one letter, to save you the stress and aggravation.

Ann you're soo lucky. Lighting (scheduled interviews) hit you twice already. I had my biometrics completed on May 29th and still I have no interview date. Yours was on 5/29 and now you have 2 interviews, well one go DE-scheduled. Guess St. Paul is true to it's form, being slow as mollases.

I did follow up with USCIS yesterday and still no interview in sight.

I read somewhere that another reason for descheduling is if the files are not expected to get to the DO in time for the interview.

Good luck to everyone!

Don't they offer same-day oath at Atlanta?
