Oh! so cool idea, and so sweet that you mentioned Eat, Pray, Love first. I read that book in July after I got married. Wow I cried a lot. It's amazing how I could connect with her feelings of distance from God, and uncertainty of direction, and the yearning to connect with the uniting.... ? forces ? in life. Although I have to say I did sort of wonder how she could just decide she needed to quit on her husband who never did anything wrong to her. I only wish I had been so fortunate to have a "normal", boring, nice man and I definitely wouldn't be divorced.... and then remarried of course, so I guess everything happens for a reason.

What is the Pi book about?

Oh yah, BTW, did you marry a guy from Denmark. I've read scandinavian countries are so nicely balanced, almost having the equality for women and consideration for us that you just don't find here and in uhm, the whole rest of the world. I so need to visit there, what's your take on life there?

Eat, Pray, Love sat on my table for a year before I read it, I thought it was just another "self help" type of book. I had no idea that I would just fall into it so fast. I have felt very far away from God too....divorced a man that everyone else liked, people just didn't see what was going on behind the curtain of our lives. I can recommend this book to anyone, it was just really a good read.

Life of Pi is about a small boy, ship wrecked (I read it over a year ago) in a small boat with a tiger, a zebra and some other animals....he is searching for meaning to life. I am getting my copy out and reading it again this week, I think. I remember loving it but now cannot remember too much about it specifically.

We are getting married this summer (fingers crossed). We lived in Sweden for a year and I have been back and forth to Denmark a lot. Generally speaking, Scandanivia and the people are very nice, friendly and easy to be with. Women are treated well and opportunities are there but it is very, very expensive to live there. Just a small example - a new book came out while I was there, Ken Follett's sequel to Pillars of the Earth....for me to buy it there in Copenhagen would have cost $60 U.S. - here I bought it at Sam's Club for $14.99. Not to mention only about 6 hours of daylight in the wintertime, freezing wet cold and windy.....We couldn't wait to get back to sunny Mississippi! I will never complain about how hot it is here, ever again!

Is it good?? I saw it but bought the book that goes with Fireproof....

The Love Dare. I haven't officially started reading it yet but read about half of it standing in Barnes and Noble the other day. Lars and I decided to read it together, while he is in Denmark waiting for his visa. There are daily challenges to complete and some journaling that goes along with it. We are starting this week.

Anyone else reading that or read it? And, am I the only person that can have 3 or 4 books going at one time?

I loved The Poisonwood Bible and Night

I liked liked Ragtime and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

The Stand is one of my all time favorite books, ever. I am getting ready to re-read the Dark Tower series again, they are my second favorites. I love a book that I can just escape into and The Stand does it for me. No matter how many times I have read it I still enjoy it.
