DS-230 Question 20: List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin

with your present residence.

Btw, I am the beneficiary. Yep I live here since birth. Even if i dont put the word "PRESENT" on the "To" field, it is very obvious that it is my present address since that's the only address i typed there...and I even typed on the next line - Nothing Follows.

Ok so i need to redo the form and write there: 01/1983 - PRESENT? Guess i'll just do that today and send it right away together with my wedding anniversary card for my husband. Isn't that sweet? LOL

They do want the "TO" area filled in even though it might be obvious. That way it makes it absolutely clear that you have had only one address from 16 to the present date. You should be fine with that. :thumbs:

I can't even count the number of times I redid my DS-230 before sending it out. I must have gone through an entire ink catridge on my printer. :lol:

Next question: This to/from thing is also bit confusing. I've read somewhere that the timing can not be overlap but in a way it has to be. For example

Option 1:

01/2004 - PRESENT

05/1983 to 01/2004

Option 2

02/2004 - PRESENT

05/1983 to 01/2004

I've Option 2, will this cause RFE? NOTE: Month is different in Option 1 and Option 2.

I tried to type the word PRESENT but it says invalid character. So i placed the word PRESENT before the name of my city instead.

Champi, there is nothing wrong with option 1.

Ok thank you guys. Guess i'll just redo the whole form then. I am not sure if the word "Present" is really the issue in my RFE...or it could be the date.

03/1983 - PRESENT * Live in one place the whole time

01/1999 - (Blank) *Was my answer to Q. 20 since they are asking for the place where i lived since the age of 16. I type the word PRESENT before the name of my City (PRESENT) Davao City

So I guess I should have typed.....?

From/To: 03/1983 - PRESENT hand written since I dont have full version of Acrobat Reader

I am ready to do this today and send it to my husband ASAP if that's what the NVC wants.

This is just real quick. We submitted our DS-230 on March 15 and today my husband called the NVC for an update and they said we got an RFE for Question No. 20 on DS-230 which is asking the list of my residence since I was 16. I was born Jan. 1983 and been living in one place since I was a baby. But since they are asking me of my residence SINCE i was 16 so I wrote on the First line From/To : 01/1999 (didnt write anything for To) I filled this form online so I cannot use letters on the date fields so I place the word "Present" instead on the Address field of the form. Then i typed on the 2nd line "Nothing follows"

We are wondering what was my mistake there. Can anyone help me please? Thank you. :thumbs:

go again on NVC website ,u will find a form in which u will be able to type the word PRESENT,I also got RFE for that same thing ,I kept the photocopy of the form ds-230 , which I sent to NVC first time ,and in that form there is no word PRESENT in the form ,so nobody was able to type the word PRESENT.but now they have changed it ,and they r sending RFE`s left and right who did not use the word PRESENT.Now u can type the word PRESENT ,and thats what ur suppose to write at the ending date of ur current residence.
