NO Biometric Letters of AOS + EAD Yet :(

Hi guys,

Do you have any idea what I should do the best? Since we filed my AOS + EAD on Dec 12, 2005 and got NOA 1 letter of both on Dec 22, 2005. Then I got touched on Dec 28, 2005. I don't hear or receive anything since then. I should have received my biometric letter by now. Am I correct? When calling USCIS, the officer said that it's guaranteed to have EAD card within 3 months. Please, kindly give me your input.

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

dont start worrying now. 1st letters started arriving on Dec22nd? If you sent in all 3 at same time (AOS, EAD, AP) count out 90 days from then.. so by beginning of Mar (just a few weeks before 90 limit) is when you should start to receive the letters with appointment dates. If you do not, then you can start with the infopass setting of appointments, or just walk in with original letters in hand to local office and ask our questions then about EAD, AP, etc.

This is from personal experience on when ours came, so mileage may vary... but reading others' stories here too, that seems to be about the way they've been doing things lately.

Its too early to start worrying.... if the 90 days has passed and you still not heard anything then make an infopass appointment to get interim EAD and set up biometrics....

It took me about 3 months to get my biometrics letter... Yours will come eventually.. Good luck!

Timelines vary greatly. I did not have biometrics taken until 100 days since receipt date. What "should have" happened does not really work with USCIS. At this point all you can do is wait, until 90 days from EAD receipt are up.

Thank you so much for your input. I do appreciate it. I'm quite worrying since I can't bear to be at home with no active activities:) I need something to really keep me busy, one of those is working...to kill the time, but at the same time really productive too. You know how I feel in this new country and no family.

Claudeth's AOS/EAD NOAs were received September 23 and she didn't get the EAD biometrics letter until October 18th and a few days later she got the AOS appointment letter.

I have almost the same receipt dates as you, and I just had my biometrics taken on Friday 10th February. I think it depends not only on service center processing, but also on how busy your local office is, as to when they'll schedule an appointment for you. Our local office Omaha, NE doesn't seem to be that busy right now. We arrived there filled in a simple form about yourself ( simple, I mean, apart from slight debate over whether my eyes are blue or green....different opinions there ).

However even though the biometrics is another step along the road, we got RFE'd and so I'm not holding out hope for a rapid issue of an EAD yet. I know how you feel about being inactive. I also hate sitting around the house and not being able to be productive, but I don't suppose there is much that can be done, except to wait and wait and wait. Really tests the patience, doesn't it?!

Thanks, thanks, thanks for your replies. Yeah...sometimes I feel so stagnant for sitting around, specially in this winter season, just can't go out anywhere myself. So, I thought working is a real good thing as I got used to work and go college, be around with family and friends.... Yeah...I'm trying to be positive thoughts that biometric letters will come soon right in my mailbox:)

Took us 57 days to get the BIO letter. It will be day 78 by the time my son and I have them done.

Our receipt date is 1 november and we still don't have anything except a very early RFE that we answered the next day.

@red_cherry123, just look at my timeline. I had about the same receipt dates as you and I still haven't heard anything yet. I will call the office as soon as these 90 days from NOA 1 are over and ask about my status. Don't worry, it takes a while.

Don't give up hope, it will come. If it does go pass 90 days, you can make an info-pass and go to your local office. When my husband and I finally checked up on his EAD, he had never received his biometric letter. they told us to make an info-pass appointment and they could give him his EAD right that same day. Well, the local office said USCIS could not see what they could see in the system and his EAD was stuck there approved 11/29/05 and it was 1/13/06. They did his biometrics then and told him he would receive it within two weeks. They couldn't give him his card that day because it was already approved. He did receive his finally on 1/23/06. You only have to wait out your 3 months and then you can follow-up with the info-pass. Good Luck, and hope you receive your letter any day now.
