For those of you who have already received your NOA2, what was your number on Igor's list when you received your I-129F approval? I'm trying to determine if everyone is at #1 thru #20 when they are approved or if it may come from farther up the list...

i haven't gotten mine yet, but I do know that the VSC and CSC lists are completely different numbers (VSC numbers go higher I think) so you might want to specify what one you are asking about, otherwise it could be completely different :)

You should sort by from UNAPPROVED PETITIONS into APPROVED PETITIONS or ALL PETITIONS.

I was at 170 (on the VJ igor's list) when I got approval from VSC.

This is what I suspected. Your place on the list has little or no correlation to when you get approval other than the probability that you're more likely to be approved at #200 than at #400. It appears to be more or less random based on where you are in the particular stack that is selected for processing.

I had already fallen off Igor's list, went past #1 and disappeared. Most ppl I saw getting approved didnt come very far down the list tho, most i saw were well above 50.

We were around 172 when approved. It seems like the likelihood increases around 180 for VCS. It's unlikely to fall below 100 and not be approved. The first 100 or so on the list, with a few exceptions, likely had not updated their timelines. Some have received NOA2, some RFE and some dropped out of the process.

Hah! If only... Believe it or not there are still plenty of us around and kicking that are below 100 mark and UNAPPROVED but are heartbroken and sickened by the way VSC chooses to approve petitions to pump up their statistics and have decided not to post or actively participate on this site. There is very little rhyme or reason as to why USCIS chooses to "forget" about some of us. If you think you've waited long enough, spare some thought for us who have been waiting a heck of a longer time then you. I'm sure you are right and some people have dropped off and some have forgotten to update their timeline but I doubt it's all 100 of us. There are people out there who have been waiting well over a year and unfortunately continue to wait without any explanation from USCIS and are not even in the first 100 anymore.

To me it looks like they (at least VSC) approve 2/3rds of petitions on Igor's list and then move over to the next month. The other 3rd is left behind to be approved in dribs and drabs in some undetermined future time.

i *think* its the same with CSC...it seems like once 50% of the month gets approved, they move to the next one, but its still mostly the first month, but the more over 50% that first month gets, the less they are approving. Like now a little over 50% of december is approved and January ones are starting to pick up.

I'm not trying to be rude, or insensitive, or anything, but since you got an RFE in February, they sometimes take two months to finish your case right? hopefully your NOA2 is coming soon! Do we know if they do the security things before or after looking at the file? (Maybe you got an RFE, and now you are in security check or something?) But either way, I really hope you get approval soon!

that's how it was when we were waiting too, i don't think it changes that much really. they probably approve all the straightforward ones first and all the others have to wait. obviously each officer works at their own pace so you might just get unlucky and be stuck with a one finger typist who isn't too up on computers, hence some people get their information online and some don't. for what it's worth i think we were at 40 when we got approved, that was pretty normal back then before the new list. i know the waiting is really heartbreaking but you'll get there eventually and the wait will have been worth it. :)

Don't worry, I'm not offended in the slightest. We are all anxious to get an approval so we can be one step closer to our loved ones. Whether you submitted your petition yesterday or a year ago, it doesn't change a thing. We all just want to be together. It just annoys me that some people assume that just because some of us within 100 mark on Igor's list that we've either broken up or have been approved but forgotten to update our timeline. Of course that's true to a degree but not for all of us. And there are still people out there waiting from 2007!!!!

According to the notice they've posted after our case processing resumed, they have another 16 days until they'll have to notify us on what's happening with our case. As far as I'm aware they don't tell you when they put your case into security checks nor do we know how long do they last. It seems to be pot luck just like everything else at USCIS. Both of us are squeaky clean, never even had a speeding ticket; both have fairly unusual names so it makes no sense to be stuck in security checks for that long. All I could think of that there is some lazy ####### out there at VSC who is sitting on our file for the shear pleasure of it....

Let's hope we all get approved soon. Good luck.
