I am disappointed in the reactions I got from some of you "senior" members. If I'm not mistaken, you are here to help the newbies, as well as get advice for your own case. I don't have the money for a lawyer, and I sure wouldn't pay one to laugh in my face. I came to this site for advice from you. I posted a few questions that a senior member got a laugh out of. This is my first time doing anything like this, and that too, I'm still new to the system. I may ask questions that have been asked before, but when reading someone else's thread, I didn't get the understanding I was hoping for, which is why I asked it again. On my own accord. I may also ask questions that do not concern my case AT THIS TIME, but I want to be completely sure about something, which is why I asked. My fiancé also wanted answers to these questions. I hate to think how you might reply if you get the same question again.

Either you have been where I am, or just coming to the point I am at. But with a serious matter such as this, I expect it to be taken seriously. Sure, joking is cool, but don't laugh it off when someone has a serious question that could be IMPORTANT to their case at the moment. We all have one thing in common, a love that is far away or has been. That's why we're here.

It's a long, painful process for all of us, and we all want it to happen ASAP, it will happen. But it's not a race, you filed, your case will be approved accordingly. So for now, I just wish you all would help the newbies, instead of running them off, YOU were there once. If I had received a reply from a senior member (like I did recently) right after I joined, I wouldn't have come back.

There will be a lot of people, myself included, who have no idea what question it was that you asked that recieved short shrift - or what happened - as you havent linked this post to the one involved.

I'm sorry you feel that your enquiry wasn't treated the way you hoped, but on public message boards (almost all of them anywhere) you have to sort the wheat from the chaff on replies; you ignore the replies that are unhelpful and go with the ones that ARE. If you feel your point wasn't addressed then just re-phrase the question - some people will respond with links to the FAQ - because a lot of questions are asked over and over and the FAQ does cover most of the 'general ones'.

I've always found the majority of users here to be very helpful personally. I remember being a newbie - and panicking like a mad eedjit lol - as do most of us.

This is a long, frustrating experience to go thru; often confusing and always draining.

I hope you found a relevant answer to your question, whatever it was. (F)

Same as Jay here Mandi, I have no idea what you are referring to but if you could put a link to the question that you posted, it would help. I sincerely hope that you have since had your question answered because like Jay I have only found good advice and all the help I have ever needed.

Please do not take some of the answers to heart, only take out what you find is relevant and helpful. You will soon find out how this site works, people on here are not malicious by any means, but you will occasionaly get a reply that may seem a bit negative or rude but only because there are people who do not do any research whatsoever and there are the guides at the top for you to read.

it is a nightmare at times to sort through all the information that is to hand but just from what you say is one bad reply do not let it stop you from posting, you will find so many who will be only to pleased to help you but you must also help yourself. Good luck to you and your fiance on the journey

I saw what I think you are talking about.

You made a comment how you haven't heard anything yet and some got on your case about your recent NOA1. Don't worry about it. There has been a lot of anxiety because of the delays about IMBRA. Some people are a little touchy because of the waits and tend to overreact. No one is laughing at you. We are all on edge because of the lame-brain government delays. Your questions are welcome and we will give any advice that we are able to give.

I have been browsing this forum for 2 months now, and it has become an invaluable source of information with regards to immigration issues. Thus far, I have been able to learn many new aspects of this procedure, and have noted that most are extremely courteous and helpful towards others with questions. After reading your initial post and subsequent complaint, I was shocked at your nerve to criticize others. As someone who has been waiting 124 long days for a response to my petition, it really bothers me to hear you complain that you havent received a response within 30 days, and I can fully understand others reactions as well. Bottom line, youre not the only one in agony over being apart from your loved one, and criticizing others here seems akin to biting the hand that feeds you.

I agree, sometimes I am just amazed at how people here expect an instant visa .........sorry to say but by the time they get to where we are today they will know exactly what the word PATIENCE is!!... But in all fairness to Mandi... I was the same in the beginning.. I never expected to be here a year later still waiting. We all learn by experiencing.. Hang in there Mandi... the wait may be worse before all this is over..

When someone that has been waiting for 17 days through a center known for approving in 90, starts having anxiety issues, it´s normal for people to get pissed of or make fun, ´cus there are people waiting for 100 days, and even a year around here. You´re the one that must have the patience and ignore comments that piss you off, you´ll see lots of it here.

Gosh Mandi, so sorry if I hurt your feelings. Perhaps you could start by reading the guides, the IMBRA situation and a few timelines before you begin to ask how to contact the service center about your petition that you filed 3 weeks ago. Most of us took it upon ourselves to get very educated before posting questions and guides and member timelines are actually provided to answer the basics. You should probably also understand that people who have been waiting 5 months are not going to respond kindly to your impatience at 17 days.

sorry, it is a monday reading that little bit got my goat.... I am only at 2 months and still being patient and feeling bad for those who have been waiting forever.... @ 17 days you shouldn't even be worrying about daily checking the USCIS site, you should just be reading the off topic forums and counting how many times chopf#ck is used :P

Just had to post a reply. In regards to your comment toward the senior members

If I'm not mistaken, you are here to help the newbies, as well as get advice for your own case.
Noone is paid to give advice at this site. It is strictly volunteered. And as far as anyone laughing in your face. I believe you read alot into the posts you are referring to. I'm sorry you feel that you didn't get the advice you needed exactly how you wanted it, but this is a board with real people who are dealing with extremely stressful issues. When someone just starts the fiancee visa process the normal reaction from those of us who have been waiting awhile and who have researched it is to tell you to learn patience and to read the guides. You will definitely have the time to do all of this while waiting for your petition to be approved. Writing a snitty post and calling attention to yourself does not make people want to help you. Maybe making a post and asking the question in it's own thread would have served you better. I wish you luck on your journey. May it be as quickly approved as you wish it to be, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. :)

I agree with Garyc...sometimes with lots of anxiety and fustration people get touchy and sensitive... continue on and i am sure you will find the vjers helpful and friendly.. just a bad day perhaps.. We all have to be patient not only with this visa process but with each other.
