NOA2 received!!!!!

Online system still says "pending" after 3 touches (and I never got an email from the system...I know it was touched only because I checked about every 4 hours!), but I have the NOA2 letter in my (shaking) hands.

I'm sure it's just coincidence that our file was sent for background checks in June but just happened to be approved 3 days after USCIS was contacted by my Congressman's aide! :bonk:

Thank you all for your support, and for any other Marchers who haven't gotten an NOA2....contact that Congressman!

Not everyone does get a touch. my case went over 4 months without one. some ppl have been married for a year and their case still says "pending" online. unfortunately their online system leaves something to be desired :(

woohoo!!! i told you you would get it this week !!! yay!!!!! so happy for you!!! just think once its off to nvc it goes so much faster and no more Freaking uscis!!!

hugs hugs

Well, I just called NVC.

In order to find out if my case got there, I give them the USCIS number right? The WAC number that was on my NOA2?

I know it hasn't been two weeks yet and maybe California to New Hampshire does take two weeks, but Im just SOOOO impatient.

Anyword on yours Kimbear?

Another Question, do K1 Visa's generally take a shorter amount of time than K3's at the NVC?

Just curious, or is this another one of the.....depends, answers?

Cheers.

finally got through to nvc today after 2 days of busy busy and they have my case!! woot got my new file number and they said it should be sent to my consulate in a week! yay!

so happy for us marchies!! such a good week so far!

Congratulations :) Finally! I am real happy for you and wish you best of luck the rest of the way! It's hard to believe that not all the Marchies have been approved by now. You all need to call and press your Representatives to follow up on your cases. Either way best of luck!

Woohoo! I changed lists....off to the "Still waiting for NOA2 from CSC K-1 I-129F up to 3 months beyond the CSC processing time (2009-03-15):" for me!

Maybe ours will show up in the mail too without being changed online. I stopped checking the mail regularly there for a while because it just got annoying not having an update while so many others were. Here's to hoping!

congrats mariposa and malamu!!

Yesterday I got what I had hoped to be packet 4 from my consulate. Instead they requested some more documents. They wanted to see copies of all my previous j-1 visa plus the ds-2019. not sure why they couldn't asked for those in packet three. hate when stuff like this slows down the process. at least I had kept all those documents dating back to 2004. except I left half of them in the states.

Not sure anyone can help me with this. in 2007 I got a j-1 visa being a nanny. this visa I extened in 2008. I can't find the ds-2019 issued in 2007. the one I got in 2008 when extending/renewing the visa covers the period from 2007 til 2009. now I am wondering if I need the ds-2019 from 2007? I can't even remember if I still have it, since it should have been in my passport when I renewed my visa in 2008 and maybe the embassy kept it. just driving me crazy

will try to call my consulate today. which is I believe comparable with calling uscis.....

called my consulate yesterday and was happy to speak to a real personen who was able to look up our case. He said I should be fine with what I sent them. I asked him what he thinks how much longer it will take.

Here is what he said:

He asks: "What is your preferred date to get married?"

Me:" 09-09-09" knowing it wasn't really realistic

He just starts laughing. That's when I just wanted to punch him.

He says:" Try a different date."

I go:" how about the 19 of sept" (the date of our best friends wedding)

he laughs again and says:"we don't work on saturdays." (thought he wanted to know when I want to get married)

I say: "why don't you just tell me when the next available appointment is."

He gives me the 17th of september which makes it impossible for me to be at our best friends wedding. Feel bad for them too since I was going to be their photographer for free.

Now I am going to call twice a week (you can only talk to them tuesdays and thursdays between 2-4pm) to see if somebody else cancelled and appointment. unfortunately most people probably don't go through the trouble of cancelling, but just don't show up.

How is everyone else doing?

Well, we recieved our letter from the US embassy today.

We can finally start gathering together the forms and such and sending them in.

I was under the impression that the letter they would send out to me would have all the forms and a checklist with it, but all there is is a short letter and a couple of links to further instructions online.

I should be happier about reaching the next step in our visa process, but I had one heck of a nightmare about the whole thing last night and I just feel unsettled and depressed this morning.

Plus, I'm getting really worried because we're going to be moving house in about a week, and I'm not sure when I should let the embassy know... we're going to have all of our mail forwarded to the new address, so could it possibly be better to wait to inform them until AFTER we submit all of our forms and paperwork, etc...?

This is crazy.... I thought waiting for NOA2 was painful. Our interview set for August 26th.. and i am about to crawl out of my skin.. PLus reading all these Horror stories at the Embassies lately.

In Ukraine on 22nd they took the passport.. But when the girl received it in the mail 5 days later - there was no visa in it.

I need a valium!!!!!
