Hi All,

Very random question about the whole AOS process... I have sent in my paperwork, followed their guidelines etc.. My question is why do we have to use a civil surgeon? What is a civil surgeon? We did the whole civil surgeon signing the papers, but why couldn't I use my regular doctor? My husband is under my insurance so that would have saved me some cash. It seems to me like this is just another spenditure that is unnecessary..

Hi All,

A civil surgeon is certified by the USCIS. Most likely they get some training in filling out the forms and what they need to do in examining immigrants.

Hi March filers! Glad to see things are moving so quickly for many of you! I'm an April filer, but I was wondering if someone could link me to the spreadsheet for March (if there is one- I've gone through 10+ pages of this thread without finding it) so I could get an idea of where all of you are, what kinds of RFEs you've received, etc. Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, none of us March filers got an RFE yet and hopefully never.

Anyway, our AP and EAD just arrived today in the mail. Yay!!! We're so happy. Plus my husband just had his promotion at work. Lots of blessings!!!! :dance: :dance: :dance::dance:

Now, just waiting for the GC. Please come our way now.

march 26. 2009: I -485,I-130,I-765 sent

april 2 .2009 noa's received for I-485/I-765/I-130(rejection notice outdated version)

april 4.2009 bio appt notice received code 3(aprl 25.2009)

april 14.2009 went earlier walk in successfull

may 7.2009 resent ead via overnight fedex

No, it's not a scam. I'm actually earning from it. Not that big but good enough to earn cents by just doing simple online tasks.

Jul 09 - Temp GC received

Mar 12 - 10 yr GC received

Aug 13 - Naturalized

Tania received her AP documents in the mail today. They are dated May 12. The online status still shows received and pending as of May 14. According to the online status, her EAD card production was ordered (again) on May 15, so I expect it will show up in the mail any day now. The I-485 still isn't showing up online.

Took my driver's license written test today... And I passed! :)

Now im worried about the driven test... I have my Brazilian drive's license since I was 18... so 11 years now.. Im really scared of the test

:(

Any hints?

Hey congrats!! How was the written test? Was it hard? CA driver's license right??? I might take the test in a few weeks time. :)

We got an email yesterday that our EAD Approval notice has been sent, but we already have the EAD card in hand. Strange.

We also received 2 emails saying Card Production Ordered, and the EAD card has the 1st days date that we got the email and the paper the EAD was on has the 2nd date, so probably the mailing date. Just trying to make these USCIS touches make sense.

Next is his turn to take the driving test, he's stressing about it a bit.

July 25th, 2008 -- Wedding Day!

March 16th, 2009 -- AOS Sent

May 8th, 2009 -- EAD & AP Approved (51days)

July 14th, 2009 -- AOS Approved!! (118days)

July 21st, 2009 -- Green Card Received (125days)

No RFEs the whole process :) All done myself.

December 4th - 30th, 2009 -- Visited England

April 8th - 30th, 2010 -- Damian's Brother visits us here in PA.

January 19th, 2010 -- Damian got his PA license.

December 10th - 19th, 2010 -- Visited England

September 16th - 30th, 2011 -- Damian's Parents came to visit us here in PA.

June 1st, 2011 -- Mailed ROC to Vermont.

February 21st, 2012 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

April 14th, 2012 -- N-400 Sent to Dallas Lockbox

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

Just be mindful of not crossing pedestrian lines when you pull up to a cross walk or stop light, also make sure you are mindful of how long you stop at stop signs. i know i did a california stop the first time and they got me on that. count under your breath for like 3 seconds as you look from side to side and front, then go. other than that, i think you will be fine. the other stuff is kinda self explanitory.

NVC Left : Aug.18, 2008

March 10, 2009 AOS paperwork sent, will wait for it to arrive via tracking #

Interview June-11. I am trying to make a list needed to bring over for the interviews. Any suggestions?

I am thinking to bring all the pictures with me and my husband taken together. All the original documents I sent to the USCIS...????? :unsure:

Thanks folks, I really appreciate that. I hope I do fine and get done with it.

The written test was easy, but the second one I took. I asked to take the test in Portuguese but the translation sucked so bad that I couldn't understand a world...result.. I failed.

Then I asked if I could take another test and they said yes and I asked to take in English and I passed :) Go figure! lol

Anyway.. My behind the wheels test is on 15th.. wish me luck :)

Lol, yes that's exactly what i was thinking the translations in the DMV are horrible! somebody needs to do something about this!.

Here in NJ you don't need to take the road test if you show them your valid unexpired DL from your country!
