Are aliens from another planet planning to settle in Argentina? The last few weeks have seen a flurry of reports in the area of what certainly seem like UFOs – that is, flying objects of an unidentified nature. Whether they are piloted by extraterrestrials is, however, quite a different matter.

When faced with such enigmas, scientists usually reach for ho-hum explanations like meteors or aircraft. For example, video footage posted on the web last month purporting to show a floating ball of light west of Buenos Aires has been dismissed by sceptics as nothing more than a natural phenomenon called ball lightning.

But how times have changed: not so long ago, similarly minded sceptics would have been dismissing reports of meteors, aircraft or ball lightning. Astronomers once routinely ridiculed reports of "stones falling out of the skies", with local museums being scoured for such things so that they could be removed for the public good. It took an official inquiry into a huge meteor storm that occurred over Normandy in 1803 to convince astronomers that extraterrestrial matter routinely lands on our planet.

But it has taken far longer for the reality of ball lightning to be accepted by the scientific community – though perhaps not without reason. For it is hard to credit accounts such as those reported in an English journal exactly 200 years ago this month. During a violent storm which broke over Portsmouth harbour, the crew of HMS Warren Hastings watched with horror as "three distinct balls of fire were emitted from the heavens" and descended towards the ship. According to the report, the first ball "fell into the main topmast crosstrees, killed a man on the spot, and set the mainmast on fire". Those who attempted to get his body found themselves attacked by the second ball, with one suffering severe burns, while the third ball struck and killed a Chinese crew member.

The seemingly demonic power of these "balls of fire" is underlined by the report of how their mere passage was enough to flatten the ship's chief mate and filled the air with a lingering smell of sulphur.

The big question is....are they immigrants or are they illegal aliens? ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

why would they go to argentina when brazil is right next door?

Maybe they can head to the Iguazu area... and have access to Pampas beef and Brazilian churrascaría all the same. They'd be happy aliens indeed.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Supposedly there's been weird things going on at this mountain for quite sometime. Never been there, but that's what they say

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerro_Uritorco

Since 1986 the Uritorco has been mentioned in media reports of UFO sightings, extraterrestrial visits, and visions of "parallel dimensions". The nearby Capilla del Monte and the base of the Uritorco attract many tourists interested in the alleged mystical/energetic qualities of the mountain and other paranormal phenomena, and a local artisan industry has developed around this topic.

Caro

Maybe we have aliens running this country. They monitored the Japanese to learn an economic victory is far better than a war victory and more effective.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't believe in aliens and UFO's.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
