About the birth certificate... I never got it back from when I applied for my passport! I called and I've been waiting weeks to get it back from them. I figure if they need my birth certificate they'll ask for it. Especially since it said birth certificate OR passport.

We'll see!

You will need to submit certified copies of your birth certificate as you go along. Why not get them now and save yourself the stress? :)

 Ordinary photocopies are fine.

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

Also, for the passport photos I guess I'll just paperclip them to a piece of paper and add it to the end of the I-129F and give them their own line on the cover letter.

That about right?

Not sure what example you're referring to but the K1 guide indicates...

8. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the US Citizen. Write the full name of the US citizen on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <Insert US Citizen's Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

10. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the foreign fiance(e). Write the full name of the foreign fiance(e) on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of (insert foreign fiance(e) name) ". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

It's logical to place the passport photos behind the respective G325a forms but only because that's the order in which they are listed as required supporting documents in the actual I-129F instructions, not because they have anything to do with the G325a. forms themselves.

I highly recommed the stapling the bags to sheets of paper.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Haha okay. I got a bit worried there! I called to see if they would send my birth certificate back and they said they would send it or call me in the next few weeks... I can get a certified copy of course but why spend that extra money when its not me who lost it?

I should find something out about it pretty soon. I figured my passport shows I'm a citizen good enough.

1) "Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security," http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-129Finstr.pdf

3) Question 18 does not need to be a novel, just the facts, in our case "Met on line Date, met in person Date, engaged Date."

4) 1 FOUR page G-235A form from Petitioner and 1 FOUR page G-325A from beneficiary, NOT 4 copies of page one of the form. You fill in page one of the PDF and print out all 4 pages of the form, each page is different from the others.

Look in the bottom of the page, each one of the 4 pages says to who it belongs. They all require the same data, but each is going to a different place.

I've never seen anywhere that a birth certificate is required from either of us at this stage in the application.

Yes, as long as you include the photos, I put mine in small plastic ziplock bags to protect them USCIS will put them where they belong. The G-325 is fine. I printed one page, filled it out, made four copies and my fiancee and I signed all four pages, then I paperclipped them together. No problems. The "official form" is a four part form, different colors, etc. but making four copies of the same is fine. I also did the same for the AOS and had no problems.

You do not need the birth certificate if you included all pages of your passport, I sent both. That's just me.

No, I think you will have no problem. Boarding passes are primary evidence of travel, passport stamps back it up. You can send a copy of your birth certificate OR all pages of your passport for proof of citizenship, I think you will be fine.
