I have seen that most people have "touch" with a date listed on their K-1 application timeline. I assume that they get this info from the online USCIS status at the USCIS website. However, for me it only says "Current Status: Case received and pending." I mailed my K-1 application in on December 2, 2008 and received the NOA1 letter on December 9, 2008. So they have had my application for about 2 months and 3 weeks.

Am I looking in the wrong place for the "touch" info or have they just not looked at my file? Should I worry about this?

Thank you.

Hi there,

do you have an account with the uscis? you need one to see the "last updated" date, that is where you can see if you have been touch...

you go to their website, sign up and create a login name and then add your case to the portfolio. once in the portfolio you can see if you have been touch

Hope that helps!

Yes, you need to worry. Worry is the best medicine and it really helps the visa process seem shorter and for many, worry shortens the actual timeline from filing to visa interview. Worry also increases the odds of a successful visa interview. Don't listen to all these people talking about learning the process or preparing for the next steps and interview. Worry is the best thing for everything in life.

A "touch" will only hamper your progress by luring you into the false universe that convinces you there's no need to worry. Worry is your friend. Nobody needs to be touched.

This is categorically false. I worried non-stop and it did not help my case in the slightest. I checked the website religiously to try and will USCIS to do something with my case, to no avail! I made myself physically ill with worry and still I had to wait just as long or longer than everyone else. I suspect that my constant agitation will not aide me during my interview or convince the border officals that I am not just a crazy lady trying to enter the country with a huge chest X-ray in hand. Do not listen to pushbrk, all will be well!

 Soooo true!!! Ive worked myself up sooo bad worrying Ive actually made myself sick ... Medical was a classic example and in the end it was nothing to worry about at all ...

trr333tx, dont stress to much mate, your times sound about right ... it took 3months from time of submitting the I-129 to getting the NOA2 ...

Start gathering documents and evidence, spend time with your sweety, talking, emailing or whatever you do to communicate to distract yourselves and try not to dwell on it to much .. Download forms and sample forms and have a read thru them theyre nowhere near as scary as you would think ...

We've never been touched, not once ... so yeah dont stress! and good luck with everything :D

My wife has been here since September and has received her green card and OUR case (I-129f petition) is listed on the USCIS website as "received and pending". The "touches" mean nothing, or I should say "likely nothing good". Good, clean petitions sit on adjudicators desks for months and then are checked and approved in 15 minutes. Lots of "touches" usually means either

1) nothing

2) there is lots of checking going on, why? I do not know but the case is being handled a lot and that is not normal.

You will likely here nothing until you get your NOA2 in the mail. Your case will be listed as "received and pending" for years to come, maybe, maybe not. Bottom line, USCIS information is worth exactly what you pay for it.

PS

Processing time now seems to be about 4 months. So you are well within the "no news is good news" period. Enter your NOA1 in your timeline on this site and you will receive an estimate of your adjudication date which will be MUCH more accurate than anything you will find from USCIS.

Use this time to download packet 3 from the consulate you will use for the interview and get all your documentation ready so you are ready when the case is approved

My case still shows pending, and the interview is Monday. Not even sure why they wasted money on that CRIS system. They could've hired more adjudicators.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Don't worry about the "touched" part. I never had a "touch" during the whole process, at least not one that they updated on my USCIS page. Our visa was approved 2 weeks ago. Everything will be fine!
