There is no alternative visa. You can't get around the requirement of meeting.

What reasons did he have for not visiting you? In some very rare cases, the USCIS has waived the requirement that a couple meets in person before applying for a fiance visa. But that is very very rare.

Reasonable reasons are not acceptable. The ONLY reasons accepted for not meeting are established religious or cultural prohibitions which must be thoroughly documented. Best, and easier, to find a way to be together.

My advice is for you to meet in person. That's really your only option.

There is no alternative visa. You can't get around the requirement of meeting.

There are very rare occations where reasons have been accepted for not meeting.

OP...what are the reasons...we can not help more not knowing. but 99% of the time, without having met, you will be denied

He doesn't need to come visit you; you could try for a turist visa so you can meet in person in the USA, though that would be difficult to get unless you have significant assets whereever you are from, or a good job and leaving the kids behind... ie ties to your home country that will ensure you go back after the tourist visa is over. Another alternative is meeting in a third country, for example if he cannot come visit you because he cannot be away from home/ work a long time, maybe try for Mexico, where it tends to be easier for other nationalities to get a visitors visa than the USA.

He is not required to visit you. The two of you are required to meet in person. This can be in your country, the USA or a third country. Exceptions are rare and the reasons are, "exceptional" not merely "reasonable".

How can you establish a real relationship if you haven't met in person, most of the cases at US Embassy they asked for pictures. It's also a way for you to know him better;let him come over and visit you first... so he can meet your children and if he can accept them as his own..and you will be able to know somehow what kind of person he is..it might be traumatic for the kids if they will go to the US and then your man might not really love them as his own,or he might not treat them right.I asked my husband to go to the Phil.first so he could meet my son, and when i saw that they have a good relationship and my son accepted him as his stepfather, that's the only time we decided to petition him..consider also the feelings of your children and thier future.yes it's good to go to US..lot's of opportunities, but it can also be a nightmare for some..

Having met the person u wud want to marry is an essential requirement. The reason is not only for the approvement of your visa but also for your personal security as his fiance. How can u even tell everyone that you've totally known that person if neither u nor him haven't experienced the joy of physically being together?? If he really loves you, he'll go beyond his reasons. think about it.
