I met my fiancee online August 23 of last year. We met in person (went to machu picchu!) 2 weeks ago. We have lots of photos, emails, IM's, some phone calls....and we are ready to get going. Any start up advice? I'm preparing the I-129F and she has the G-325a and is about to mail it out to me.

Thought someone would have some start up wisdom to offer. :) BTW...my fiancee is a nurse...does that help a little?

Congrats!

Follow the guides here and you should have no problems...

Sadly, your fiancee being a nurse will probably not help your petition (their job is not really in question), it may help at the embassy though :star:

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

if she is a nurse I suggest she starts the application to get permission to sit her NCLEX exam now - because the only thing slower at processing applications than USCIS are the US nursing boards!

Congratulations!! My advise is to read up on everything and understand what is required and have it all ready to send off as its required by the embassy ... this site is the best! Shay and I followed the flow chart and its been fantastic .... look at the links on the top ... the Downloads link has all the forms ... Example forms has samples of the forms filled out so you can see how to answer the questions ...

And stay calm ... it can get very stressful and costly and you need to stay supportive of each other thru it .... and dont jump the gun, sometimes things sound worse then they really are ... thats the biggest problem Ive had soo far assuming something, getting all upset only to find out it wasnt as bad as I/we thought ...

Good luck, and all the best!

If she is sending you the G-325a with original signatures i would suggest you remember the letter of Intent. She needs to sign that too.. Original signatures for G-325a and Letter of Intent.

Besides the G-325A, you will need a Passport photo, and a letter of intent from your fiancee.

The packet requires you to submit FOUR G325A forms for each of you. Have her send you EIGHT, so you have a complete back-up with her original signatures. Ditto your simple Letter of Intent, have her do two of those.

Have her sign everything in BLUE ink, so there's NO question whether it's a photo-copy or not when a bureaucrat looks at it.

Moving on w/life

Follow the guides as others said , and the best personal advise i can give you . Include all evidence of your relationship , along with statements from your fiancee saying that they want too marry you . And aware that you are filling a I-129F , so you both can live her together in the USA . After you are married . And include one passport photo of you and one passport photo of your fiancee , include all evidence of your relationship even from your fiancee . But remember if you send the originals to USCIS , you will not get them back , so just make xerox copies of all documents . You can learn for others mistakes
