I'm down for it.

My approval was the 9th.

Great mine says 9th too I just got word on the 10th so that's why I have it like that.

I already have a question. Did you do your taxes already or are you about to? Because I am working on it right now and I am wondering how should I describe my marital status. If I choose "married filing jointly" they are asking for a SSN, if I file "single" the NVC or the embassy might raise eyebrows on it, and also I can do "married filing separately" which I beleive is the best thing to do. What do you think?

Thanks in advance

For your taxes you can file as married without a SS# you need to get a W-7 you file it with your taxes and they give you a temporary number used for taxes.

Yes, I can file either way but what if I go with filing jointly and do the W7, do I have to wait for my taxes to clear with the IRS before I send my docs to NVC, or can I send it right away? Because the time frame for the IRS to respond is up to 3-4 moths. :help:

Whether your spouse is in the US or not if you are married you can't file single that is a definite no no! It is an official government document and filing single when you are married is false. The 2 options you have are to file married/jointly in that ase you would need to include a W-7 request for your wife. Or you can file married/separately in which case the issue of her not having an ITIN or SS number is a mute point. However you will be taxed at a higher rate for the married separately status. But filing single is not an option. You can still send the documents to NVC just include a letter explaining that you applied for your ITIN for your wife. The documents you submit to NVC is a copy of what you send IRS.
