Being a 'curvy' girl as well I had a similar problem. I would avoid at all costs buying a dress online. If you live near a big city go to a Consignment Wedding dress shop (if they have some where you live) I was able to find a really niiice dress at a reasonable price and with a little alteration it was perfect!

I don't. The OP is altogether too cheerful to be a troll. The first sign of 'wear a tent' and there would have been war, this lassy just shrugged it off.

or played along...

Either way it's good. I've added "Places to get plus size wedding dresses in Northwest Ohio" to my databank of trivial knowledge. Maybe I'll get on Who Wants to be a Millionaire someday and that will be a question.

Mmm I guess I have no sense of humor - I kinda think its mean, and pointless.

me too.

Oh I agree. I missed that.

Psst, dayton is SW Ohio. TO the OP, my niece who is from Findlay got a lady to make her a dress. Don't know how close you are, but I can call her and get the name and # if you want. PM me if interested.

Oh, thank you I will PM you right now.

Hey, I'm a Trucker. If I say it's N.W., then by God it's NW! The Sandusky hit threw me off.

Those dresses were nice Joe! I may buy that one with the lace!

Glad I could help. Maybe I'll buy the other one. The Vietnamese have a fascination with Transvestites. If nothing else it would give everybody something to talk about.

I would checkout Ebay first, most of dresses are pricey and you can get a really good good bargain (some of dresses that are sold for $2000+ are later sold for $100-200). Ask for the measurements since every brand has different sizing guide... I would also recommend to get a really good fiting bra (it would definetly helps to create a nice shape - believe me, I know).

And ignore some of the nasty comments above, the people who wrote have their own complexes and problems and they THINK that picking on others will make them feel better.

Ha, buying clothes is always a nightmare, least for me, wife can spend hours in a store, but even she gets frustrated at times. Can't list actually physical size dimensions, but some arbitrary number that doesn't make a bit of sense.

http://pages.ebay.com/buy/guides/sizing-si...1450:SEARCH:2#2

Attempts to give some actual measurements, but why did they leave off the height of a person? That is yet another variable.

Ha, it's best for me to leave my wife alone and find something else to do, but go back and see how she is doing. They tend to sort clothes by size, but the really only way is to try it on. I know with my shoe size, can wear anything from a 10 1/2 to a 12 1/2, isn't there measurement standards? With many people trying on clothes, they never get returned back to the rack they took them from, that really makes on big hell of a mess. My wife can find something she really likes on a 60% off clothes rack only to find what she picked out wasn't suppose to be on that rack, used those damned bar codes without listing the actual price. And where do they come up with these prices anyway, pull them out of a hat? One common factor, it's all made in China, but seeing clothes from Viet Nam and North Korea now.

When time runs out, and she finds something she does like, the major challenge is to find that in her size, tells me it can be a 4, 6 or 8, depending on the style and fit, what happened to 5 and 7? Always a wait for the changing rooms, ha, can't we come here with you wearing your bikini?

Hello and welcome aboard!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
