My recipe is even simpler, hard boil the egg, peel it and eat it.

Always had problems removing the shell so got on the net with a zillion suggestions as to how to boil an egg, none of them worked. I boil a dozen at time for a full 15 minutes, dump out the hot water and fill the pan with cold. Shells fall off. Nice snack, my dog loves hard boiled eggs, so we each have one together. Store them in a sealed plastic container.

on the cooking girls at my work suggest this:

The American Egg Board says the correct method is to place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan. Add tap water until the water level reaches at least 1 inch above the eggs. Cover and quickly bring to a boil. Turn off heat. If necessary, remove pan from burner to prevent further boiling.

Let the eggs stand, covered, in the hot water about 15 minutes for large eggs. Simply adjust the time up or down by about 3 minutes for jumbo or smaller eggs.

True about a single layer with an inch of cold water above the eggs, but after the water boils, have to turn the heat down or you will have a mess to clean up. Just a slow boil. Did you know that a watched pot never boils? But the water isn't smart enough if you give it a quick glance.

Ethel, if you don't got you one of these here toasters so you can put Doofy and Mickey and all them right on the bread with the egg salad, well I reckon you are depriving yourself of what would be a supreme pleasure for both an egg and Disney fan.
