Hi All -

Will USCIS automatically email me when they send out our NOA1, or do I have to have the information from the NOA1 hardcopy to register on the website in order to see when they've touched our file, etc?

I am the Queen of Impatient, so this is going to be a long few months!!

If u have registered ur email with UScis, yes , they will E-mail u before they send out NO1 or NO2

theoretically, however the online system is not without its flaws.... I received hardcopy NOA2 about two weeks before the e-mail. No chance of an e-mail for NOA1 either....

Ok, I'm all registered.

I'm going through the VSC and I live in Vermont, so hopefully I'll get my NOA's in the mail a little faster than most. I know, not likely, but I can hope...

Also, while I'm thinking of it, when the timeline on VisaJourney estimates your "adjudication date", does that date mean an estimate of when the I-129F will be processed and the whole thing forwarded to the foreign embassy? Or is it an estimated date for the whole process to be done and the K-1 visa itself to be approved?

once you get your EAC case number you will need to register/link it to your user ID

It may not be possible to be notified of NOA1 by email because the case number needs to be added, which one can access from a digital image of the canceled bank check online. By that time, it's likely you'll see "Case received and pending" with a date the NOA1 was issued.

Anecdotally, email notification seems to work sometimes and sometimes not. Often it will be reflected online by a touch (change in 'Last Date Updated' in profile) or notice there of successful adjudication or RFE.

we signed up for the email but never received it when our petition was approved so i would advise you not to rely entirely on the email.
