They bumped it up a whole month. and they havent been posted for 2. so at VSC, one month is equal to two weeks worth of petitions. hmmm except the officers who are already working on June of course.

This is good news for the late march, early april leftovers. call!

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

No, it means that they are processing NOW petitions filled on Nov 30th/2008.

If it says 6 MONTHS, means they are processing NOW petitions filled 6 months ago.

This has nothing to do with petitions filed on Nov 30. They are simply saying that on Nov 30 they were processing cases filed on April 01. What they are processing now is ambiguous. It could be June or July (as they have already approved some of those applications) but they refuse to say so because they are afraid they will be flooded with calls from people asking why their case is not approved. The date will move forward to June or July only after they are done processing all the cases filed up to that date. They will do that a few months from now citing a "as of" date of January/February.

No, it means that they are processing NOW petitions filled on Nov 30th/2008.

If it says 6 MONTHS, means they are processing NOW petitions filled 6 months ago.

in other words,

The information they had on November 30th is posted. Anything after that will be on the next update.... and God knows when that will be....

When they post 6 MONTHS, it means they are within their projected processing time.

These processing times are just to keep the phones from ringing, we have seen a number of May and some June filers get approved, so they are probably further along then they would like to admit. These dates give them a way out if folks call to ask about case status. The waiting continues...

No, actually

They started that additional wording(as of) in the late summer. It is another way for them to cover their behinds.

It's gives the service centers more or less..2 months to play with.

I hope you can all appreciate the irony and hypocrisy of this statement taken right off the USCIS website, explaining a Day in the Life of USCIS. (http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/a_day_in_the_life_of_uscis.pdf)

"Each day USCIS fulfills its promise to provide

accurate and useful information to our customers,

to adjudicate immigration and citizenship benefits,

to detect and defer benefit fraud, and to promote

awareness and understanding of United States

citizenship."

Todays update on the processing time is the complete opposite of accurate and useful information! I guess we will just have to sit and wait for however long it takes.

After reading the posts about what its actually like to work there I'm choosing to cut them some slack. There are just so many things about that job that suck... If you ever get a chance you should check it out. Its in the FAQ section.

Unless I'm missing something its got to be a management / staffing problem. From what I read the workers have to hit their numbers.
