I re-read my original question, and I didn't mention the G325a at all. So, I wasn't confused about what form requests the passport photos. I will wait until Friday, then if they are still not here, I will mail the package and send the photos when I get an RFE.

Right, the confusion in this thread began with poster number 4 who indicated there was nothing in the G325a instructions about passport photos. That's what prompted the response.

Hello all. I'm new here. I wanted to file my paperwork for the K-1 today, but my fiance's passport photos still haven't arrived from Jamaica. Can I still mail the package without them? Will they deny the package? I wanted to file before alot of people started getting their tax refunds to pay the fees. Please help. I don't know how long it will take for those pictures to arrive!

I'm a nervous wreck!

Laila

When you say 'passport photos', I assume that you mean passport style photo? You are only required to send ONE passport 'STYLE' photo in with the K-1 petition of you and one of your fiance as well. That doesn't mean that your fiance sends a copy of his passport ID photo...just a 'mug shot' like the photos they take for your driver's license and so on. You could just have your fiance take the photo with a digital camera and send it to you. I did mine from home and just printed my photo onto glossy photo paper...Don't send your case in without your fiance's photo because it will only increase the likelihood of your pictures being separated from your file. Your case is supposed to be filed 'first come first serve' but that's not always how it works out...Just wait for the picture to arrive and you'll be good to go.

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

nope, u should wait til u receive the photos from him.

if u just mailed it, USCIS will ask the photos n ur case will stay still.

CALL Ur fiance to take that passport to photos and mailed it to u by Express mail service.

Thanks. I found this on the USCIS website. Is it still valid? Can I print and include with my package?

Wow, great research,I read the instructions for G325a and it says nothing of photos, but to be sure call them. that document is from 2005, and if they do require photos it will delay your approval. This was in the instructions:

If you have any questions on how to complete the form, call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Good luck calling that number! I had a very simple question based on the I-129F instructions. They refused to answer (based on legal reasons), and the didn't even have a copy of the instructions to read along with me! Craziness!

Question about the whole photo in the plastic bag thing - I read the instructions from the USCIS website and bought a book and neither one said anything about attaching a plastic bag. The first I saw anything about this was once I ran across this site (almost 3 months after I sent the I-129F package in the first place. What I did was put them in the passport photo holder that I got with my pictures from Walgreen's. I only labeled the other photos that were from our time together to show a valid relationship. I hope this won't be a problem?!?!

if you wait for an RFE, then your prolonging your wait time, why would you want to do that? Just wait til you get the passport photos and then send the package.

it needs to be specified that the photos HAVE to be of a certain dimention....2 inch x 2 inch (51 mm x 51 mm) color photo

and again i strongly erge you OP to read the guides, all of this is in them

If he has a digital camera, I recommend him having a friend take his pic against a white/off-white background & emailing it to you.

You can use http://www.portraitbooth.com/ to upload the photo and crop it to fit the requirements. I did this for my SO's passport photos, and also for my aunt who just renewed her passport. It worked well since you can print 6 of these on one 4x6 photo at a drugstore for about 20 cents, instead of paying $7.99 for TWO passport photos. I feel that is the biggest rip off out there, but anyway...

Just sent passport size photos of regulation size. As long as they are securely fastened somewhere in the package it really doesn't matter where they are.

And not sending them WILL cause an RFE.

right, however now the OP is saying he will just wait for the RFE

Good luck.. actually the pic as long as the size is 2x2 and recognizable is okey... what i did... i filed the pic (i place it inside a small ziploc plastic with name on the back) after the 129F form.

The ID pic is just a basis on the other pictures you will attach to your petition.. just to know if you look the same as the other pictures you as attached as proofs of relationship.
