PC typing backwards

My hp is typing backwards. I had to log into my hubby's profile to post this (because it still works properly). When I type "h" then "i" it reads "ih". The letters are being added to the left side of the cursor, " |" instead of the right side.

Please help. Virus scan is clean and I'm running firefox3.

I wonder if it has something to do with the language setting. A number of languages are written from right to left and if you got the language setting changed to one of those it sounds like something that would happen. Go into your computer settings, find the language settings and see what they are set at. It may be as simple as re-setting the language default. Good luck.

Yeah, I know its messed up. I was typing along...I think I hit some key around the enter key or something. I looked up to see the last few words were backwards.

Do you know how to fix it?

log into your account then go to control panel then keyboard and check settings.

I checked the language setting it said, "English(U.S.)". But I did see that there was also I box checked for "install files for complex script and right-to-left languages". I unchecked it and re-booted. Now I'm typing in correct direction. Thanks!

Secondary problems (that I've learned to live with). (1) When I press backspace, it deletes 2 characters instead of 1. (2) delete key does not delete. (In order to delete I have to highlight then press backspace). This started a few months ago. It hasn't affected my hubby's profile- so its not a keyboard malfunction...also backspace and delete work fine in Word.

do a detailed comparison of you and your husbands settings and match them. Just look for any little differences between the two.

darn, it's fixed already. i was gonna suggest turning the keyboard around 180 degrees.
