Guys, I have a question... What if your husband doesn't want you to work?

he just wants you to stay at the house and be a dedicated housewife?

what are you goin to feel?, do?....

it's different here. it is boring to stay at home and be a plain house wife. my husband ask me not to work. i told him, i want to try working here if it is hard or not.

Do something to keep you busy. Read books , or make friends. I never felt homesick since i got here..got lots of friends and besides having your family their own computer at home is easier for you to talk and see them anytime you want to.My kids are still in the Philippines but i talk to them, see them and keep in touch with them whenever they can.I have a beuatiful 5 months old baby now too that keeps me busy.

Ngano man day? Asa man diay xa? Kinsay imo kauban karon? Lisod jud na ang mag-isa sa foreign land. Just a suggestion, try to check if there are other Filipinas in your area. I was able to befriend a Filipina here when I got here and she also introduced me to her other Filipino friends. They both speak Cebuano, I speak Boholano before and I'm using it when I'm with them. :)

I would be thankful for his suggestion but I'll insist to get a job of my own. That way you have other diversion aside from your married life. As much as we love our husband, we need something to do just on our own to get more spice out of life!!!!

Guys, I have a question... What if your husband doesn't want you to work?

he just wants you to stay at the house and be a dedicated housewife?

what are you goin to feel?, do?....

I'm one of those wife who is not working. When I was still in PI, I work all of my life. After my hubby told me that all he wanted me is to stay at home...honestly I feel delighted...Since I graduate high school I already start working..low paying job. I'm also a working student. I finished my 2 years course in 4 years...whew!!!!. After college I worked for 5 years straight in the same company till I met my husband online.

When I came here last April of 2007 I just stayed home untill this very moment. and I like being a plain housewife....you don't have to wake up early to go to work, no one will tell you what to do, you own your time, you can go for a vacation anytime you want. But of course there are also some disadvantages of not working...like you don't have your own income and you just stay home all the time.

But what ever you decide to do..either stay at home or work as long as it makes you happy and productive go for it.

Evelyn

I've noticed that most of the people who start threads like this on VJ are living in the uncultured, crappy white trash states. I'm American, and *I'd* go bananas if I lived in South f*cking Carolina...

Can you get online and find out if there are other folk from the Philippines who live near you? My wife has an account on this big Japanese online community, and she's found Japanese folks who live nearby through that.

Go listen to some free beats:

I dont know if i could stand to be a full time housewife (no offense meant to other people, just my preference). Since we will be getting married soon and the adjustment of status wont allow me to work... he is quite worried right now coz he knows me enough that i could not stand staying at home for a long time with-out work.

Anyway, my fiance and I already did a list of activities for me to do so i wont get bored.

My suggestion is that you talk to your husband... Compromise if needed.

Guys, I have a question... What if your husband doesn't want you to work?

I will start to consider him a control freak and an abusive husband!

Seriously, your husband has no right whatsoever to ask you not to work and to just stay at home and be a dedicated wife. It's more of an economic abuse which may constitute an act of violence against a woman. To work. explore all your possibilities and maximize your potentialities are your basic rights that your husband should respect and which you must protect.
