Im sorry about your situation but your husband should be your strength now. I hope you are doing fine.

I miss my family in the Philippines too but my husband makes everything great for me here and I am very happy despite being away from my family. My husband is my home now, and he is doing a great job so I feel just like home.

Be strong. The adjustment will take time and I hope your husband is helping you with the process.

First few months are a bit hard on everybody. You will soon start to settle down. Set your house the way you want, make a few friends, get a job (if you want) and have a routine. Things will get easier then.

I had a really hard time too and knowing that Daniel will be gone in a few months made it even harder but eventually we settled down and now I have a life here - Its our home, our dogs, our life and that makes all the difference, when you get that feeling that its all yours too then you don't want to go back anymore coz this is your life and this is you. All the best!

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. But we cant really give you a precise advice if your not going to tell us what is exactly happening to you. We are all miss our old life, but since we are a married women now, there a lot of adjustment to do. Hang on everything will be fine....

There are days that I feel the same. Sometimes I get worried because there are lots of unemployed right now and I don't know if I'll be able to find a work when I get my EAD unlike in the Phils. I had a stable job. There are many bad things going on with the US economy right now so sometimes I think that it would have been better for me to stay in the Phils than come here. These are just some of the things that bother me from time to time but I'm trying to ignore these apprehensions and focus on the good things that I have right now. Whenever I miss the life I had back home I just think of the millions of people who want to come here yet they don't have the chance to do so. Whenever I feel bad because I don't have a job and all, I just feel grateful that my husband has still a job and that we still have food on our table and a decent place to live. In a way I am also lucky because I live in a city wherein lots of Filipinos are residing and we have almost everything Filipino here.......filipino stores, jollibee, max, chowking among others plus my in laws are Filipinos, my cousins, relatives and friends from high school live in nearby cities so there are just lots of things to be grateful for. Focus on the good things that you have right now and accept the fact that this is your life now. We all came here for the same reason which is love so let that love grow more as days go by. God bless.

There are others who are fortunate enough to have family members here in US. I don't. But I have a "kakampi" -my husband. You should consider your husband as your kakampi. Where is he anyways? Are you living alone now?

If you are just in San Jose, we can go around together!!!

u r not alone (L) everybody missed their FAMILY back in PI so bad... so, cheer up :) the adjustment is hard. everything was new... new place, new people, new climate, new foods, new policy, EVERYTHING... every single details was new but that is life. we need to face it... i used to cry every now and then. but my husband always find ways to cheer me up. we always attend FIL-AM gatherings just to make me feel like home but still, its different from PI.
