Me too but I was originally brought up in NJ and later in Pennsylvania...it took me years to get the whole pop thing...

:lol: Not necessary. I was really just curious since I've been to a fair few states in the US and have always been understood when I ask about pop.

my hubby used to look at me funny when I said pop.. but somewhere down the line I started calling it soda...

I guess it is easy to do when that is what you hear it called all the time... *shrugs*

It used to be a pretty regional thing...in the mid-west they'd say "pop" and in the South they'd say "coke," and everywhere else they'd say soda. When I was a kid, we moved from Florida to Colorado and I got the strangest looks when I said "pop." Now I think most everyone everywhere would know what you're talking about.
