No-one will tell you for sure - look at others timelines and you will see that it vary a lot. It is taking between 30 and 90 days but my observation is that it is very rare that it takes only 30 days, usually it takes closer to 90 days.

I am now passed 70th day and still waiting.

I received an approval email today. Approved effective May 31st. My NOA date is April 4th

Yeah I was just bitching about not having my EAD because I am expecting some job offers and can't even accept them without the EAD. It takes so ridiculously long!!! I am meeting with an immigration officer on Monday at infopass to try and determine if they can provide me with any sort of letter or something to give my prospective employer. They will probably send me away but I have nothing to lose and it is worth a try.

I thought you got the EAD a week or two after Biometrics but I see this is not the case at all....sucks.

We sent our paperwork in early February and are still waiting for the EAD. Remember that after 90 days have passed, you can request an interim EAD at your local district office.

We are still waiting for EAD and it has been 110 days, so don't count on anything. We finally got interim EAD after fighting with the immigration clerks and having 2 infopass appointments. The bio appt was done 6 weeks ago, but no info..and we never got any RFE's or anything yet. If you can find out if your local office gives EAD's without alot of trouble, you may want to show a copy of that rule to any prospective job that you may have, that way they can have a ballpark date on when you would be available.

Ansari -- I am in the suburbs of Chicago too.....all our papers are filed at the same place so you would think our timelines would be pretty close....

We sent our paperwork in for the AOS & EAD at the end of March -- see the timeline below -- we only just had our Biometrics for the EAD on 5/20 and the AOS last week. We waited a awful long time to get the Biometrics done......really long. No EAD yet. But, both our accounts have been "touched" twice in the past few days....

I truly wish it was easier to predict what they are doing....

Minfay, I am similar to you. I had both my biometrics in Chicago within the past two weeks and got them touched also. Just keeping calm and 'enjoying' the waiting game.

I would guess you should get your EAD around early July. I am hoping late July for mine.

Hey pink_cloud - let us know how appointment went, I am very curious if it can help, I have job waiting for me also - they have been waiting for some time and I hope that they can wait a little longer - it is very confusing when you cannot tell potential employer how it will be.

I am sooooo glad!! I thought we were the only dorks that had to do two Biometrics. Now I don't feel like such freak. Thank you!!!

Hey Anutka.

Well my appointment was pretty useless. As expected he said he cannot do anything until 90 days have passed.

I asked if he could give me an idea of when the processing will be complete and he pointed me to the USCIS website processing dates. I asked if he could get any other more accurate information by looking internally and he said no.

I then told him my husband is in the military and we might get moved in the next year - I told him SC is taking up to 2 years to process GC's and asked if he could request to have my case transferred to California. He said he couldn't do that and it was just luck if you get transferred to Cali.

So all in all a useless meeting.

I sit and wait in frustration with the rest of you
