So, the Democrats already have control over the House of Representatives. With Lieberman's help as an independent, they also have control of the Senate. That's the state of affairs today.

Election pundits indicate that the democrats will increase their seats in the House and the Senate - and get very close to the 60 votes needed to avoid filibusters in the senate. Of course, they also predict that the democrats will win the White House.

So - my question is, especially for those who will be voting for the democrats - and have had enough of the republicans, do you really view it as a good thing for the democrats to have, essentially, complete control over Congress and the White House - thus eliminating effective and meaningful opposition to their policies?

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Is there really any difference between a republican and a democrat? Feel there is a difference in a senator or congress person that is representing those who elected them or some special interest. Also a difference as to whether they are honest or crooks. Also seems like the new guys just get coffee for the old guys, and really don't have much of a say, even though in theory, each has one vote.

Do you think congress will ever pass term limits? Will still the old guys be running the joint, in other areas, the call them godfathers or CEO's.

If things don't get better, then only the Democrats will be to blame, and there will be another swing back to the Republicans.

As soon as McCain gets off Joe the Plumber's nuts. Then he'll jump onto Cletus the Minuteman's nuts -- that is, of Jon Kyl will share.

I was wondering the same thing just this morning... I don't recall ever hearing either campaign talk about immigration.

Hey dalegg, are you a troop? If so, how much of that $1.5 trillion rising rapidly to $3 trillion did you get of the money Bush needs for the troops?

How can a person be here illegally unless there is a law that states they are here illegally. Since they are here illegally, congress must have already passed laws to this effect. But since congress also appropriates the money to enforce these laws, where are they going to get it if they already sent $1.5 trillion to the troops? Plus another $3/4 trillion to support the CEO's on Wall Street.

Suppose we could all send extra money to our congressman with the stipulation of only use it to enforce the already existing laws on immigration. But after taxes, and much higher energy bills, really not enough left. We could try to borrow some from Mexico, not sure if China or Japan will extend any more credit to us.

Or are you talking about reforming the USCIS that is giving us very poor service with extraordinary high fees?
