AOS: MSC Processing Times?

I received today my NOA1 for I-130 and I-485, and the receipt number starts with MSC (Missouri National Benefits Center).

Does anybody know what are the processing times for Missouri? I looked at USCIS website, but neither I-130 or I-485 is listed under MSC. Anybody else filing for AOS whose receipt number starts with MSC?

Thanks!

It's very hard to tell since MSC also transfers cases. YOu have better indication in few months when you have biometrics done. If you're lucky you might get transfered to CSC. CSC has significantly better processing times than most other offices. Have you received FP appointment letter already?

Oh I see, so it looks like they send cases to MSC (maybe some sort of filter?) and then they get transferred to other offices. We didn't get the FP appointment letter yet....

Hi there,

All of my receipts also starts from MSC. I already had my fingerprints done and received my EAC yesterday. I guess, it is nothing to be worried about. Also, I never got any letter saying that my documents had being transferred.

Only thing that make me worried is I can not check my I-485 status online. And last touch on I-130 was in mid. August.

07/23/2008 I-485, I-130, I-765 sent to Chicago Lockbox

07/27/2008 Envelope received

08/04/2008 Check cashed

08/05/2008 NOA received for I-485, I-130 and I-765

08/12/2008 Biometric appointment letter received

08/18/2008 I-130 and I-765 status viewable online

08/27/2008 Biometrics are done

09/23/2008 I-765 Card production ordered

09/25/2008 Received another email saying I-765 Card production ordered

09/30/2008 I-765 Apprroval notice sent

10/02/2008 EA Card recived in the mail

12/04/2008 Interview Notice Recieved

Cases that are sent to the National Benefits Center are usually later transfered either to your local office for an interview or to another center to be approved without an interview. This center does not approve I-485 or I-130 themselves, they only approve EAD and AP.

MSC is sort of a distribution center for the AOS. Some are transferred to CSC, but those are K visas - I think - and even some K applicants have to go to interview at local office. If you filed I-130 and I-485 concurrently, then your case will eventually be transferred to your local office for an interview. This should be the same office that you go for biometrics.

Check your local office timelines for a rough idea of processing times. They are not very accurate, but they help a tiny bit. You can also check timelines on VJ for your local office.

As far as processing times I can tell you they are VERY SLOW. They have had my EAD application since June 5. Which is now over 4 months. They sent me an RFE in August and I sent it back but nothing has happened again since. Good luck, I hope they are better for you.

ALL AOS packets are sent to MSC: MSC then sorts them out. Either sends them to CSC (Only happens to most K-1 and a few K-3 holders) or local office. If you arrived here on B1/B2 visa or under WVP you'll get an interview at your local office.

As for the BIO you may receive one notice for both or one for each. You should receive it about 10-14 days after receiving the NOA's. After getting the Bio done your EAD (if no RFE's or problems) should arrive within a month and a half, sometimes it takes longer. From what I've been told: country of origin, name and background check influences the time of the process.

Incorrect: BIOMETRICS are done at ASC (Application Support Centers) they only handle Photo and Fingerprints.

Interview are done at USCS Distric Offices, depending on where you live you should know your nearest office.

Don't let the choices chose you, chose the choices that you want.

I am equally worried with my GC application. I went for infopass appt on Oct 26, 08 and told that it was pending security clearance and my file is in Missouri. Here is how;

May 10 8 appl sent i130/485/765/131

May 30, 08 received NOA

Jun 5, 08 received Biometrics appt

Jun 26, 08 did fingerprints

online message "pending"

Oct 26, 08 went for USCIS infopass appt

As a matter of fact I have over 5 friends who received within 3 -5 months while am waiting. Is there anything special done at FBI as regards to security clearance? I have no criminal record at all - is there anyting they look for other than FP? Is my relationship with my previous employers at home have anything to do with the delay?

thanks

You're correct. I should have said 'transferred to your District Office for an interview'. I forgot there are local offices that do not interview, but do biometrics. In my case it was the same office for both, so I wasn't thinking.

Sorry about that and thanks for the reminder!

You can check aproximate times by looking at people's timeline. For example, you might want to look at July fillers for example to see when/if they got the AP, EAD or green card. In our forum (september) we have tables with all the September fillers, where their case is and when/what they receive regarding their case. It helped me a lot.
